I can't help it. Very Happy

Just got a reactivation offer from CCP and decided to take a look. I'm still laughing at one thing in that mail

"All New EVE Forums - EVE Gate is the new home for the redesigned and full-features forum system… now, with Search!"
Very HappyVery HappyVery Happy

It's like seeing a commercial about a motel, like...:

"Our motel now have the redesigned and full-featured bathroom... now with Hot Water!"

I appreciate the effort you invested in building new forum, but this is not how marketing is done.

P.S. I'm not trying to troll or complain, I just found that sentence hilarious. Very Happy

Except of course, no new forums...

Public testing will start four weeks ago

I think CCP would fire people if their job postings weren't open for over a year ... isn't the world economy fracked? Does CCP suck so hard to work for?

Funny you are asking that. That was exactly the question in their last survey from newsletter Smile

Are you really surprised that the email contained a big pile of incompetence?

Sarcasm filter is off, are you serious?

I do have a buddy who's a game programmer and he said CCP has a rep as being terribad to work for, as they think they "know the only way to do it", and honestly while they've made a cool product, they should stand back and see what others have done as well.

Sadly, yes I am, I keep thinking they aren't going to mess up EVERY LITTLE DAMN DETAIL ... then I get sad.

Confirmed somewhat I guess by devs from other companies speaking about the terrible reputation CCP has in the game developer community....

Not that it means much as the game developer community is rife with 'unique snowflakes' and 'special buttercups'....

However one dev said that CCP is similar to the movie 'Fight Club' in that you had better bring enough money to get back home if you are working at hq in iceland because it will take you more than a year to save enough to escape...

sounds like butt hurt employees to me. A programer at CCP would be making enough to buy 3 plane tickets a week.

unless you go to Icelandic bars everyday, then yeeeah, you might have some issues. :P

While I only have a limited knowledge of the programmers who make games, I've heard good and bad things about most companies, however, I've never heard anything good about CCP. Now, let me be clear, that doesn't mean I think they are bad, I think they are isolated.

well... considering they don't speak English as a 1st language.. yeah you might not hear a lot if you just speak English.

The isolation isn't due to English or not English. It is due to the flow and lack of flow of ideas to CCP.

Those numbers seem very off and favored more towards making them look good. Hence the 3900 pool they used.
