The Fall of IT Alliance.

By tracing back the recent history of IT alliance I have determined that they are responsible for their own demise. However, contrary to what many believe, they are responsible for their own fall not because of their failed administration or declining performance on the battlefield but rather because of a key tactical error implemented by IT alliance nearly six months ago.

On the 25th of August 2010 IT alliance abandoned their operations in the deep south and deployed in the 6-CZ49 system of the Syndicate region. The official given reason for this operation was so that IT can defend their remaining high-end moons in syndicate and the surrounding low-sec regions. However in reality IT alliance had deployed in Syndicate to launch a campaign against their long standing mutual allies Evoke, Cry Havoc and The Dead Terrorists, otherwise known as the Cloud Ring coalition, who were the dominant moon holders in Syndicate, Outer Ring, Cloud Ring and all surrounding Low-sec regions. In other words this campaign was nothing more outstanding than another attempt by IT alliance to develop its moon based wealth and perhaps achieve some easy victories over a well respected, yet significantly smaller, Evoke/CH/DT coalition.

At firsts ITís campaign against this coalition was fruitless, most of the high-end POS that were reinforced were successfully defended whilst IT found that even with greater numbers in their fleets they were unable to achieve decisive victories against their former allies. Failing to achieve the easy victories that they had clearly anticipated, and even loosing some capital ships, the IT administration declared it necessary to use full capital force against the Evoke/CH/DT coalition, or in other words deploy super carrier and titan fleets against HAC gangs, a tactic which IT had ridiculed the Northern Coalition for resorting to against the very same opponent on a regular basis. Unfortunately their superior capital numbers began to achieve the desired effect and Cry Havoc lost High End moons to IT alliance by the dozen. Evoke and the Dead Terrorists were less effected being as most of their moons were out of the immediate target area however this threat encouraged The Dead Terrorists to further consider their long-term goal of occupying a southern region.

On the 10th of September 2010 IT alliance, faced with the near collapse of AAA, return to the southern regions. Nonetheless their campaign had battered the moral and threatened the security of the Evoke/CH/DT coalition which in turn lead to devastating consequences for both the Cloud Ring coalition and even IT alliance itself. Shortly after this, Cry Havoc announced that they would be pulling out of the immediate Cloud Ring area and that their alliance would be effectively disbanding. In the very same week The Dead Terrorists abandoned Cloud Ring to deploy in Stain and launch an invasion of Feythabolis. Evoke remained in the Black Rise region bordering with Cloud Ring however alone they were unable to continue their long standing resistance against the Northern Coalition. Just over a month later on the 18/10/2010 combined Northern and Deklein Coalition forces completed their conquest in Cloud Ring, claiming all sovereignty, outposts and valuable moons.

By this point the Evoke management had launched a campaign in Providence which followed through to become highly successful as the alliance is still fighting strong today. The Dead Terrorists invasion of the south, despite appearing initially promising, eventually proved to be a disaster for the former pirate alliance.

The harassment of an ever growing group of opponents and the failure of their new corps and allies to provide the support which the Dead Terrorists desperately required amounted to the destruction of the DT super capital fleet. Shortly after this the Dead Terrorists fell in to complete evacuation back to the Low-sec from which they originated. Today the Dead Terrorists is once again a competent pirate group yet a shadow of the null-sec giant that they briefly were.

This is relevant to IT because essentially their Syndicate based campaign against the Cloud Ring coalition did result in the collapse of this group. Perhaps IT never considered the fact that this coalitionís presence in Cloud Ring, and the highly successful resistance which they yielded against an ever present Northern Coalition, was one of the key factors protecting Fountain from the Northern forces. Sure enough only months after NC/DC forces completed their occupation of Cloud Ring this region was used as a staging point for a successful invasion of Fountain. The rest as they say is history and as I will conclude by saying IT destroyed the only coalition which could have possibly continued to successfully divert the NC cluster f*ck from their pride and joy regions. This tactical error triggered a chain reaction which will probably cast Band of Brothers back to the history books.

You left out the part where NC left with their tales between their legs after loosing moms and titans. Shortly after NC was beaten by IT, there was a invasion by many Alliance! Test, Goons, NC.. and all the other little boys and girls who could come take a poke at IT Back door.

If I remember correctly while IT was keeping war front in DELVE. People like BLADE. Couldn't keep their alliance together and help BLAST from getting pounded by GOONS. Although TALOS did try but the forces were even to big for their BOMBER Fleet to help BLAST. After BLAST took a beating! TEST Jump on the bandwagon with there 500man drake fleet to take out the rest of the clowns.

After that the Amazing BLADE. was force two be in two places at once, they were loosing even there home front as well.

Shortly after that TALOS was gone because BLAST was no longer around to help them either.

So now, we have all guess that BLADE! is a alone to take on the huge blob fest in PNQ with the help of 200-300 man IT gang (No Caps).

Well thank god, I was tired of the dumb bomber fleets anyways

? What was HUNS doing again

I've to agree that attacking Could Ring and hitting -A- to support init left IT without any friendly entity they could call for help. that was kinda stupid tbh.

This post consists of only facts. Check the dates, killboards and even forum history if you like, I wrote this from knowledge gained by owning high ranking characters in the Cloud Ring coalation and having PVP characters within IT alliance.

I think Mr RandD is right on the money. Always wondered how it would have been if IT would have kept the Cloud Ring folks blue. Not sure we would have taken CR and Fountain so easily. On the long term, it was a very bad call by IT leadership to go against their former allies. I guess this is all part of the "sand-box" effect. Like Merv once said: "Action--->Reaction....Cause--->Effect".

Good post RandD.
