Hi all, i am after a fit for a Jag to kill SBs.... so need a decent scan res.

I thought of something like this:

[Jaguar, New Setup 1]
Gyrostabilizer II
Nanofiber Internal Structure II
Nanofiber Internal Structure II

Medium Shield Extender II
Invulnerability Field II
Warp Scrambler II
Catalyzed Cold-Gas I Arcjet Thrusters

150mm Light AutoCannon II, EMP S
150mm Light AutoCannon II, EMP S
150mm Light AutoCannon II, EMP S
'Arbalest' Rocket Launcher I, Gremlin Rocket

Small Core Defence Field Extender I
Small Core Defence Field Extender I

Scan res is about 930. I have 10 PG and 1 CPU to spare... basically, i want to lock SBs, orbit them asap and kill them. Any good?

930 scan res is too low to catch bombers, better choices are interceptor fitted with an sensor booster(+scan res script) which can reach 2k scan res very easily or an insta cane(basically triple seboed cane with a mwd, no tank, just tracking and damage mods) that can instapop bombers the moment you finish lock so you don't worry about them flying off or anything(essentially the trick is to Ctrl+Click the target to lock and hit F1, you will almost instantly see a boom :D ).

If you want "Efficiency" are you sure you want to orbit? SB's are made of paper. Think about boosted dessies....

Don't you have to both lock and get into range before they GTFO?

Wouldn't a long point and long range weapons be more useful for SB hunting?

You need to have a successful lock on a bomber before they can't cloak up.

Getting the lock is only going to mean they can't cloak... nothing to stop them warping to a point they are already close to being aligned for.

That's why I mentioned an insta cane, the alpha from the the hurricane is enough to pop almost all bomber fits on the first shot. I've personally done very well with insta canes, jumped into an fail IT pet bomber gang once, chewed em up good .

I'm certainly not disagreeing, but more pointing the OP to a different platform without being proscriptive.

A bubble camp catching SBs coming through might not need the point to stop the warp; a fleet being bombed most certainly will.
