I'm asking because it's not like everyone doesn't see a char in his/her undies during the creation process.

Isn't it enough that half the female chars skipped the shirt?

I've been told it's cold in there, I'd rather have something on to stop my bits shrinking.

just read the patch notes...

I have to agree...why do you have to put a shirt on before seeing your chars?
Did someone ACTUALLY moan about the fact that they felt emberassed about the fact of seeing a semi-naked avatar? Confused

Because, unfortunately, people on the internet are, by and large, immature asshats who exhibit no sense of decency, no sense of maturity, and no sense of decorum unless forced to.

CCP, outer garments should be enough. I think this is an over protective action to prevent having that one guy afk in high traffic areas with just a hat.

I think it's funny, just imagine the price of all the sexy characters with no shirts doubling and tripling over the years. The character "Sexy Hoe" will now have 750 mil/hour in her bio.

Given that some outer pieces completely cover up any shirt you might choose rendering it pointless to pick a shirt I'll complain about it.

Why should we be forced to select something that won't affect our character? "Greetings. Today you get to choose the type of ion fuel used in your spaceships. Well, by 'get to' we mean 'forced or you won't be able to undock,' and before anyone asks there's absolutely no performance enhancing benefit whatsoever between fuels. You're just picking them for the same of game immersion. Of course nobody else will know you're using Protomexa Ion Premium so it doesn't even really do much for immersion either, but you still gotta do it." Rolling Eyes

Of course, unlike your very nicely constructed, but completely irrelevant example, EVERYONE knows you aren't wearing a damned shirt.

If my example is completely irrelevant them I'm sure you won't mind visually identifying what shirt my character is wearing in these screen shots, or if she's even wearing a shirt.

No shirt. (because I know you're trying to make a point). Am I right? Am I? Am I? Am I?

Nope. I figured that not having a shirt on would be obvious so I actually put a shirt on her. Twisted Evil

Still, judging by the fact that you couldn't figure it out I'd say you couldn't tell from the pictures and that Outer piece was likely to blame. Wink

As I said in a previous post, some clothing choices render enforced shirt selection completely useless. My example of being forced to pick a fuel source that won't affect ship performance and that other players couldn't tell the difference between in other pilots' ships was quite apt. Either way we're being forced (on occasion at least) to make a choice that is completely unnecessary and has no effect whatsoever on the game environment. Rolling Eyes

I understand it'd be simpler altogether to code it the way it is rather than make it so that if you're wearing a shirt-covering Outer garment you don't have to, but it's still kinda silly, especially given that they had to enforce the shirt thing at all.
