Ok heres the problem, I created a new corp on Sunday (4 days ago) so I can setup a POS in high sec. I expected a day or 2 wait for standings to adjust to the level so I can start anchoring. I had done this in the past and it took about 2 days to adjust since I have 8.0 faction standing and only needed enough to put a POS in .5. 4 days have gone by and my corp doesnt even have a "liked" and "disliked" column, 0 faction 0 npc corps NOTHING its BLANK. All it shows is my personal standing to corp, and corp to me. I even searched for hours on the forums, all i found was people who had to wait about 2 days MAX and standing started to adjust and then by 7 days everything is sorted. I created petitions as well, 3 days now and counting, and no answer, Is that the type of service we pay for? no answer, no suggestion, nothing, starting to make me think there is a real problem. So now i've resorted to posting here hoping maybe someone at ccp might actually take a second out of GD and look in here. The best part is I have this whole week off to do whatever I want before going back to work and decided to get the ball rolling sunday, mid week now and with not a single npc entity even showing up under corp i'm getting Anyone else seen this happen before? |

Corporate standings are updated every downtime.
Only people that have been in the corp at least 7 downtimes are included in the average.
Since you started a new corp, it will take 7 downtimes for your standings to affect it, as you are a new member.
The OLD system was different. You are probably reading old posts. |

Ok thats news to me, however last time I did this was about 2 years ago. Good to know they made a game that revolves around waiting and added an extra dose of waiting to it Thx for the info Tua, I'll save this rant if nothing happens in 3 days and when I'm back at work |

Rather than creating a new thread, I'll ask my High Sec POS noob question(s) in here.
I was thinking about leaving the player corp that my main is in, in order to set up a high sec POS. I can't remember what my faction standing is right now on the main, but I'm pretty sure it's high since I've been doing missions for a long time.
Question: If I leave my current player corp, and create my own corp, what will the faction standings for that new corp be (after the 7 downtimes mentioned above)? Will it begin at zero since it's a new corp? Or will my character's standing determine the new corp's standing as it's the only character in the corp and it uses an average system (IIRC)?
I think I'm leaning towards the latter as the OP didn't mention that he had to slave missions to get his new corp's faction standings up?
Thanks

If your the only one in the corp then corp stands are based on your standings before skills alter them. So if your 8+ with a faction your corp will be that also.

The newer system actually makes it easier to transfer your personal standings over to the corp than before. In the past only entities that you had a standings change while in the corp would transfer over to your corp. (Personal standings with entities A, B, and C and you only had a change with A no corp standings with B or C.)
But now all your personal standings transfer over to the corp after the 7th DT, regardless of if you had a standings change or not. (Enter corp wait 7 DT corp gets A, B, and C.)
The old system required you to do a storyline to jumpstart the corp faction standings, now you don’t have to do anything except wait. |

Edited by: Quazal Atreides on 27/01/2011 09:41:30ok simple really.. 1 create corp 2 wait 6 days (or 7 downtimes {not 7 days})3 boom standings = toon who created corp then any time antoher toon joins corporation the standings are reflected as an 'average' (not numerical average but ccp average) of toons in the corp; Should toon have no standings. (thats not 0,00 or -0.00 but nothing at all neutral to all) then the standings will never move. I hav ebeen creating corporations for 2years.... check my post for full / written details corp creation |

Maybe they've just made it so to make it harder to exploit a system that is supposed to work for a CORP. You (and many others including yours truly) have done this to sell or buy a service for corps that did not bother to raise their standings enough, but that doesn't mean it's how the mechanic is SUPPOSED to be working or used. What is really borked is that the only way to raise standings is by missioning - there should be a reasonable way for non-military corps to raise their standings, albeit at a slower and more costly rate. My opinion. |

True, I stand corrected:) Yet courier mission standing rewards are... blah. Mining missions are a bit better but still very low. And it's a "breakup" on what an industrialist usually does - I'd rather spend my time looking for markets, or profits, or hauling around materials for MY production rather than grinding hundreds of courier missions for some corp just to grab the standings. Selling to Corp NPCs, or buying from them, or using the corp's facilities or performing research for them... all these activities should give you a slight (very small!) standing change, me thinks. Maybe not research - that's passive. |

Avoid having to run any missions by selling 100,000 Trit one nugget at a time? And I could use this to raise my standings with ALL factions? Yeah, this doesn't sound very EVE-ish to me. This is a change I hope we don't see. |
