So how many people have lost ships trying to fight Incursion Rats solo? Or going into Vanguard or Assault sites with 2-3 ships?

My gang went into a site with 5 guardians and a ganglink damnation + some dps ships. We lost 2 guardians within 30 seconds and bailed. We had enough time to lock them up, just didn't have the repping power.Confused

From my experiance on SISI this sounds like an Assault site.

It was a nation commander outpost I think. I believe the system was listed as assault. It recommended 5-10 people so you can imagine our surprise when five guardians wasn't enough.

Yeah, after my experiences on SiSi I decided not to have my Logistics get insta-popped by overpowered Sansha ships.

You might have just misread the name.

There's the Vanguard site Nation Commander Outpost (510 pilots) and then there's the Assault site Nation Commander Stronghold (1020 pilots). You might have misread the name, picked the wrong beacon, and gotten something that was twice as nasty as you expected.

Also do you not have to do the weaker sites so the sansha effect on the system drops, maybe before you attempt the ten man site?

I was poking my head around one of the hard sites (the one above vanguard) in my loki, and watched a Golem get 1-shotted by a volley of battleships. Before I could warp out, I too was instapopped Sad

On SISI we could clear the Vanguard sites (5-10) with 6 RR Battleships with the Sansha holding full influence. I wouldn't recommend going to an Assault site until Sansha influence has been lowered though.

How the hell did you manage to lose two guardians?

Lost my beloved Machariel in Colelie; into the combat site, scrambled/neuted immediately by three very fast frigates, popped in three volleys by a BS dealing 22K damage. Hung around in my pod, along with the others hanging around in theirs. Counted 60+ player wrecks, watched the fireworks as each new ship was vaporized. Frigates lasted a little longer because of their size . . .

Required: Excellent passive shield tank and lots of speed!

So do speed tanks actually work, or will you get webbed to death? Also what's the range on neuts?

It doesn't work. He's probably just lucky to not get much aggro.

So let's get really basic here ...

There a dragon in a room, and a warrior and priest standing outside, who do you send it first?

It's time to learn how to play a whole new game, raiding with pvp.

So after a day a quick look at the map shows that 7407 player ships have been destroyed in the 3 highsec incursions in the first 24 hours.

The highest losses have been in the Algintal constellation, with 4334 losses, 2421 in Colelie alone (highest loss system). (To 9161 NPC wrecks in Algintal.)

Araz has 1695 losses, 815 in Munory.

Obray has 1378 losses, 505 in Eletta.

The lowsec site in Joas has seen far less participation, with only 180 total losses, 71 in Khabi.

The nullsec sites have seen very few losses, with only 153 total ships lost between the three.

1M4-FN has 77 losses, 44 in 0-TRV1.

R-M719 has 52 losses, 16 in Q-GQHN.

8MJ0-4 has 24 losses, 16 in 6T31-L.

O the joy of Incursions.ugh

Funny thing is that Algintal with the highest loses and all is the only Incursion to have a dent put in it. lolzNeutral

From what i read i draw this conclusion:

Required: T1 BC, insured, 3M isk max in mods on it (meta 0 - 3).

And fire away, 1 pop = 10M isk loss, basically one average sanctum tick.

I did some belt ratting in Algintal with a Wolf, sporting EANM II tank. Managed to kill collections of frigates and cruisers, although at one point I was being webbed and neuted by two frigates and pounded by a cruiser, and they got into my armor.

Speed helped, no surprise that in orbiting the cruiser at high speed and close range it couldn't hit me. However, the cruiser fire was accurate and powerful on approach. Also, their shield and armor tanks are far sturdier than any plex/mission/belt NPC I've run into.

Sadly vanguard sites can be done with as few as 3 ships and a single logistics. Its all about fleet make up. Most of these fleets are PUGs and just take anything they can get to join the fleet.

I think CCP put it best "If you have friends, bring them." because you never know what you will get from the incursion channel or local.

I would have to agree on that one. I have yet to be in a successful fleet that had the recommended people. =/ Now, the 186 man fleet on an assault site was successful.Laughing Though, we could have taken that fleet into a HQ in Null and cleared it with the fleet makeup we had.
