ok, you clearly have not played eve much. All evidence points out ccp dosent even listen feedback from testers. Otherwise that damn character would stand still in creation window. Yes, testers told ccp its annoying that it keeps jerking when you try to adjust face.... What did ccp do? Ignore feedback.

If you have some thing positive to add to the already filled plates of the managers, designers, design teams, creators, server techs, customer support techs and those in HR that are trying to hold it all together, guess what, a whinging blog thread is not the place to express it.
If you don't like what I have suggested, I don't care because guess what, It Is Eve, it is a GAME, it is NOT REAL.

You have failed to understand Time Zones. The only changes applied to UTC are to do with leap seconds and keeping it in sync with the rotation of the earth not being exactly 24hrs, and similarly for the year. GMT is the same. GMT does not have daylight savings applied to it. Ever. Anywhere at all. GMT is always GMT, ie, UTC+0. That has always been the case.

CCP do not use a daylight savings scheme. Therefore they still use UTC/GMT for advertising their timings. If you use a daylight savings scheme where you live, you'll need to apply that to any calculations you do. If you don't use one, you don't.

He has some very valid points. Even if they are all the same one.
I doubt most of the complainers have anyone relying on them for anything.
Its good to get it off your chest anyway, which is what this chap did.
Most of the time I will write out a long rant. Then delete it as I have cooled off. This guy got one step further. Hats off to him.

That is your own counties scheme. It has nothing to do with any other scheme anywhere else. The reasons for it vary from place to place. Presumably the reasons for it are to do with farmers or not running children over or something. Boring tree hugging stuff. But whatever scheme you're using, UTC and GMT don't change. Think of it this way. A daylight savings scheme doesn't change a time zone - it's more like creating a NEW time zone, then using that one. |
