I had no issues with the patch. Downloaded and installed fine. Ran eve fine. Last night after I logged off, my computer was running very slowly so I decided to restart. After four tries it finally did restart, taking over an hour and a half.

Today it was fine all day. I logged on to eve and it started getting choppy, and within five minutes I had a black screen. Tried to restart. Two hours later I was finally able to get it running again.

CCP, what the hell did you do and how can I fix it?

I am guessing you machine is over heating. Look for a program called fan control and turn down those settings. I lost a laptop to eve before, video card died because some fuqwad at ccp reset the interval settings in the Apoc patch

You do not lose hardware to software.

If software can have a "destructive effect" on your hardware, the crappy hardware you are using is to be blamed. There is a reason to stay away from laptops which will burn your lap. Go buy some real computer the next time.

Thanks for that helpful bit of advice, but I am not using a laptop and it took me 6 f'n hours to get my comp running again last time. Haven't logged onto eve and has been working fine ever since so...wth is the issue?

I filled up at my local gas station and my tire blew out on the interstate. What the hell did you do to my car, BP!?

If your tire blew out every time you left a BP station and never did any other time I think you'd be right to ask. Troll.

If your on MBP Santa Rosa Model, get down your local genius bar or authorised repair centre. There is a known issue with the 8600GTs causing them to overheat. You may even get a free replacement logic board even if your out of warranty! - They fixed mine, I'm a happy bunny now!

You can also remove the bottom of the case to see if your fans are all clogged up with dust. Same applies to desktops. Get your hoover on the case (turn your pooter off first!)

i can confirm that the same thing happened to me. only that i spent up to 4-5 hours trying to start up or wait for my computer to boot. several times. kind of don't want to play the game again on my mac until ccp gives statement about this issue being fixed for good.Confused

Probably smart. New patch fixed problem then promptly crashed. Eve wouldn't even open after that. I did a complete reinstall and now I have no problem connecting, but every thirty minutes or so it crashes without anyway of me knowing besides corp mates telling me over vent. Even if i am sitting in station doing nothing it still disco's me without any warning.

At least not having trouble restarting computer anymore >.<
