Dude, calm down. No need to threaten a law suit, real or not . . . You are not the only one having to deal with this problem and no one is on here posting in a manner that makes you look like a child, an idiot, or both. Your actions are not a way to get someone to help you. Yes, this is very frustrating and annoying, and a lot of us are losing game time for this . . . However, when we signed up we should expect this. Should Ccp compensate us for our lost time? Sure, however, when signing up with a game company fi an online game you expect downtimes and errors.

Talk nice to the debs, give them a cookie, and things will be along in time, hoooefukly not too long or they will need more nudging than a cookie, Razz

Adding Eurzadahn to the lawsuit. Internet spaceships is serious business.

BTW, you may be a moronic piece of **** but most of us do not pay or sign up to expect downtime and errors for $15 a month. Very Happy

Maybe there's old junk still running?

Quit all EVE and Cider processes if there are any and see if it helps. A logout (out of MacOS X) or reboot will also do it.

For what it's worth, I have the same problem. Mac Pro (2008) with GeForce 285 card in it running OS X 10.6.6.

The interesting thing is if I run the binary from a place OTHER than the Applications folder, it works. Question

Type this in terminal:

open -n /Applications/EVE\ Online.app

I don't know why it works...but until CCP can UN-$%&* the Mac client, that is all I got

WTF? This works for me every time. So should I just send my subscription money to you then? Cause apparently CCP didn't want me to play. Really though, this is an utterly laughable glitch. Though the CCP guys can just put their faces on frying pans to get scrambled eggs.

Can someone please sticky this, or paste it as a fix in one of those "known mac issues" BS threads. IMO, CCP puts lots of work into this game, just not the mac client.

I have had the same problem. This appears to be an issue with the EVE preferences directory. If you go to your home folder -> Library -> Preferences and delete the "EVE Online Preferences" folder it should fix the issue but all of your settings, fittings, overview settings will be deleted. You should be able to launch the client however.

Well I updated to 1.1.1; didn't work launching from the /Applications folder. Downloaded the latest Mac client repair tool (the download link was updated recently, so be sure to re-check that thread) and still no dice. Throughout this process, launching the game from a directory OTHER than /Applications continues to work. Using the terminal command open -n "/Applications/EVE Online.app" doesn't work for me, either.

For the curious, it doesn't work from an updated client or a fresh installed/copied client to the /Applications folder. I've also tried deleting the config folder, the user.reg, userdat.reg, games.ini, system.reg, all wineserver-* files, the cache folder, and the settings folder (the place where all your bookmarks and stuff are saved). None of those changes fixes launching from the /Applications folder.

The beat goes on...

P.S. Bonus now, though, quitting the app makes it quit IMMEDIATELY. No lag, no buffer overrun, nothing. Feels like someone just ran into the terminal and kill -9'd the thing.
