Yeah, I know my system isn't amazing, and kind of old. But I still run the latest Snow Leopard version (10.6.6) and can run EVE pretty smoothly at high settings (Minus anti-alias). And now I've encountered this, and have no idea what to do about it..

Screenshot!

As you can see, I have a pretty sweet view of his jaw.

EDIT: I wonder if it's the "Low Quality Characters" option being a douche to me. I can't turn it off to test. (Probably due to horrible graphics card)

I manually downloaded the patch, since the in-game patcher is generally slow and requires me to have the client open.

Seems like this is a different one from the one i downloaded and was corrupt. Giving this one a shot and crossing my fingers.

I never use the autopatcher. Allways download.

I've tried all the texture options, and this is what happens.

I'm getting the same Jaw only creator.
Any answers to this problem yet?

Had the same problem.

After i switched to portrait view, there was no correct lighting, so i thought i change the graphics settings up a a bit. After that -> Empty clothes, no body, just teeth/jaw.

Relog, quit, whatever... Nothing helped.

Could fix it by logging in to another character (Character Creation) and then back to the one i wanted to change...

No idea WTF is going on with this patch - clearly buggy and **** again. Commit to excellence - er no.

Same problem here with the Character Creator on MAC OS..... nothing but a jaw.

Other weird item of interest is I created my character portrait on a Windows 7 PC last night... but when I log onto EVE with the EVE MAC client I can't see my portrait it's just a blank outline.

Im glad to see im not the only mac user who had this problem.

Once I saw I could back out and not have to create a new character I felt a little better that my portrait would not be relegated to Wind up chattering teeth!

Not happy about this bug but I will say I laughed pretty hard once I saw what it looked like.

Better luck next time ccp.

2.66ghz 24" imac here, 8gb RAM, GeForce 9400(256mb) and the character creator is practically unusable.

Typically, in eve (in space) with full graphics settings i get about 8fps, not usable for fighting, but totally usable. again typically, in space, with medium graphics settings (optimized for memory) I can maintain above high 20's fps, in most any fleet situation.

In the character creator, with lowest quality settings, it's .5-2 fps, tops, with my typical med graphics settings it's 5+ secs per frame.. completely unusable.

I have the same config as you, I think, except with 4 GB RAM. My workaround is to do all the changes with Shader set to "LOW", and then preview by switching to "HIGH." With Shader set to "Low," the creator is totally usable--easily 5+ FPS. You get the low-quality textures, but that's why I switch to high to preview my work and see what the colors/textures really look like. It's like a 10-20s pause to reload the textures when you switch to high, but it beats to trying to use the interface.

A tip if you want to try this workaround: start character creation in LOW and make sure you reset to LOW before moving on to the "portrait" page. For some reason, if you start in HIGH and then switch to LOW, you can't interact with the character (that is, the grabbable bits never highlight to let you sculpt the face/body, so all you can do is rotate the camera).

Ah, that's why I could not interact with the model. Although I am happy with my result, looks somewhat the same as before but you know... better :) Anyway thanks for sharing that with us, I'll try your tips out on my 3th character :p

Anyone managed to fix the 'jaw only' issue yet?
Starting to really annoy me now....

Best option for all of you that are having this problem is to delete the eve app you have and get a new one. You more then likely have a corrupt file from the mass amounts of downloads around the time the patch came out and if you are using lower end internet (5/15 or slower) you'll end up with a lot of corrupt files when you have a large group downloading from the same location.

If that doesn't work then clear your catches and see what that does. After that, it would be repeat step one, and if that doesn't work then you can try resetting your computer.

I was making others characters when the first patch came out and had a hair problem. After I cleared my catch's it worked fine.

Awesome - clearing the cache folder worked a treat :)
Thanks for the tip. Much appreciated.
