main char has a DOB of c. 01.01.2004

played beta but didn't get into eve at the time it went live due to RL commitments.

Hey, "old" guys! How about you quit like all the others did? Instead of feeling all alone in your "EVE Retirement Home", or where ever you see yourself, could you join all your old, lost friends in Doomheim. They are all waiting there for you and you know it. Leave your stuff to me and I will take care of it. How about it?

In almost at the beginning but not quite.

But if I'm totally honest I'm the 2nd owner of this character, I'm a total noob really, didnt join Eve until beginning of December '03.

I was created one week after the release and I have been in the most awesome corp ever since.

In fact, I was created the day before, but there was an incident and a server roll-back and the original me got lost. He, server roll-back.

I understand your pain, to a lesser degree, I took a break after 7-8 in game, only had about 4-5 mil skill points (did not know about the auto jump SP increase thing at the start) came back 9 months later to find all my friends fitting new shinny toys to their ships and i could hardly keep up. It was at the stage that i decided that I would keep my chars training most of the time during breaks unless RL money was a problem. The downside to this is I wonder if i am still here soley because of how much time i have invested in my char :/

If id just trained my toon while playing other games it'd be fine. Although it was definately nice coming back to eve and having all four races battleship skills at IV and 10m SP in Gunnery to play with!! Made training for t2 a bit easier.

Im the OP. My only regret is when that when I get burned out on the game, or rage quit (which has happened a few times) I vow to never come back. I therefore neglect my training. THis happens everytime. But then 6 months or so later, EVEs siren song comes calling and a resub. All that training time lost!

My one claim for fame for my time in eve, if I can call it that, is that I won the EON/CCP contest in 2006 for a fully paid trip to the Fanfest. I had the Pic of me and Master Chief from the Battle Star Gallactica series together in EON promoting EVE.

Fan Fest is awesome. CCP really knows how to throw a party.

Whats keeping me in game these days....Wormhole exploration and reverse engineering, and a bit of pew pew thrown in for good measure.

Yup, same here. Started day one with a predesigned character that I figured out from the Beta. I still have the box and disk too. DOB - 05.06.2003

Scary to think I have been playing for that long.

May 11, 2003 here. I haven't played much last few years, but hope to get back to it. Probably missed about a year total of skill training (but I am not a maxer, so doesn't really matter)

Still my best times during the Phoenix Maw campaign and the creation of the FA.

Date of Birth 24/05/2003

Joined Oberon Incorporated about nine months later - became a Director and have been active (to varying degrees) ever since.

I still enjoy flying in fleets - for the last year either Logistics or command ships. I hate mining and ratting, only doing the latter to repair my sec status.

what keeps me playing is probably the corporation - we've been lucky to recruit a really good group of players over the years and, in particular, excellent CEOs.

Read about EVE in early 03, but couldn't start until early June 03 with Casey Jens due to this silly thing called a real life car wreck and a broken back. -sheesh.

Retired (not trashed) Jens in late 04 due to work schedule and created Sevarus in early 05 to
correct some skill train oops-ies I'd made with Jens, and have been active off and on ever since then.

Real life interuptus's aside, I've kept my hand in since that fateful day when I read about this space game that was just gonna rock the world. It did, for me at least.

Got the game on release, still have the original DVD box but sold my original account in 2004 (It was my first year of college and I was extremely broke) and then didn't return until 2006

2003.05.14 - 18:00:00 and still original player. Wish I'd paid a hell of a lot more attention to the forums then, perhaps I'd be a lot richer now Smile

Wow, a week before the game was released - impressive.

Ooops, forgot to answer the OP. I was in beta and bought the game at release. Created Avon on first day, but deleted and rerolled him a couple of days later.
