Hey fellow industrialists,

I got some toys that might interest you :
- Manufacturing Profits ("tech 1" filter is good to make loading faster Embarassed)
- Invention Profits

They calculate profits for every buildable item, using Jita's prices (sell orders). For invention, best decryptor for profit/run is pre-selected and you can ofc change ME/PE/science skills/decryptors to see how it change profits.
Sales volume is not yet taken into account to filter items no one buys, that will probably only make it in final version.
Also the "ignore BPO" and shopping list features are linked to registered account, so they won't work for now.

Pages will be publicly availaible for a few days/weeks, so I can see how badly they might react to increased load before rewriting them entirely and making some server optimisations. Then it will be back to closed-beta for a bit and hopefully release-ready after that.

nice!

great work, but I feel you missing something. Not every invention run gives you a T2 BPC, so if an item has a chance of 48%, you will also only get those 48% profit/day...

Not sure where that price data is coming from, but it doesn't seem very recent?

Most prices have been updated this morning, directly from a cache reader & scanning in Forge. Anything in particular that seemed really outdated ? Maybe I have some stuff missing in my scan filters.

And the profit/day indicator is a bit incomplete indeed, it just assumes you can always invent enough to have an excess of T2 BPCs (which is sort of true for small stuff, at least in my experience) and that manufacturing slots can can be filled as easily for everything (which is far from true, obviously your slots will be easier to fill with BPCs that take 12h to manufacture than if they get done in 3h).

Any chance you could eventually update this to account for component building? Pretty solid tool, just maybe something like the "Resolve" button in Evemeep. Factoring that into the initial search would be great too, though I expect fairly difficult. Nice tool otherwiseVery Happy

wow very nice like my old invention calculator.
I am very interested in beta testing when you start!

I was wondering if it was possible to set the location for the prices to be set to other major trade hubs such as Dodixie and Ourselourt(or something). Otherwise, thanks for helping get started on what to make.

Good bit of work, the option to change your price index would be a useful addition for future development, but liking it so far, keep up the work, most appreciated. Now all we need is someone to take over EVE metrics :)

About prices, it's hardcoded to use Jita ones atm but database supports multiple regions (with one system used as a Hub), I just don't have data for any other ones until I get a reliable price source (hoping Eve-MarketData.com is successfull to become a "new Eve-Metrics", so a daily import could be used to "fill" all outdated prices)

Bull > certainly planning to include the "resolve" feature in next versions of manufacturing/invention pages (I really miss it too) and it might even be possible to have it on the search page (but with a cached build cost for components ofc).
But I'm also an adept of "Soon(tm)" deadlines (and have a pretty large to-do list for the time I spend working on it) so don't expect immediate improvments Wink

I was about to post a thread about getting started in Industry, but I think this answered my main question. Thanks!

One suggestion though: I notice there's a way to filter by tech. Would it be possible to get an option to filter out faction stuff too? You know, so I could get results that are just plain T1.

Looks like a good tool, but I think you have a problem with the T2 missile costs.
Take the Havoc Fury

4/4/4 skills

Invention cost per run (10 run BPC) 79,179.45
Manufacture cost per run 1,677,316.00
Jita sell price per run 3,164,250.00

You then have a profit per run of -78,874.07, however I calculate a profit per run of 1,407,754.55

Your profit per job is -788,740.68
My calculations have it as 14,077,545.5

You then have profits per day of -141,973.32
I calculate the per day profit as a little over 2.5mil.

Ive looked at some of your other missiles and they have the same discrepancy either I have flunked maths or missed something totally obvious or there is an error with your calculator somewhere.

I think your tool has a lot of potential and I hope this feedback helps.

How about you post your calculations here, and we check them for mistakes?

How about you make your own calculations once, before you trust someone else to do them for you?

I backup those data from Aeternitas Opulentia, because my calculations say nearly the same +/- some ISK.

G'day Adrian

I have used Nikolai's figures for Invention/run, manufacturing cost and sell price.

From there it was a simple matter of [sell price - (manufacturing cost + invention/run)] to get profit/run.
Then profit/run x 10 to get profit/job (10 run bpc).
I then divided profit/job by 5.555 to get a rough ball park figure for profit/day (5d13h20min/job).

Not entirely accurate for the profits/day but it doesn't need to be due to the large disparity between what I calculated for profits and what the Eve Tools site calculated for profits.

The divergence occurs at the profit/run calculation still looking at it I can't see how the negative figure is achieved there - from that point the other calculations on the website seem to follow the same process I have.

Indeed it seems I ****ed up the final calculations on BPCs that create more than 1 unit per run. I will check it out tonight, should be easy to find & fix.

Edit : should be fixed now

I think your probabilities of success on ship hulls are way too high.

For example, paladin with classic doctrine at level 4 skills shows:

Invention Chance 43.43%

This should be around 27%.

How are you determining the manufacturing time for profit for day?

Looking at the Widow

eve tools page:
Widow Manufacturing (ME -4 / PE -4) (ie no decryptor)
Profits per day (02d 12h 00m per 1-run BPC) <- I assume this is the time for manufacturing

But looking at the manufacturing time on a BPC with a character with Production Efficiency 5:
Widow Blueprint x 1
Blueprint / Battleship Blueprint
BLUEPRINT COPY - Runs: 1 - Material Level: -4 - Productivity Level: -4
4 Days, 4 Hours
3 Days, 8 Hours (You)

Are you taking into account POS bonus etc?

Yeah pretty much everything is calculated with POS bonus (must have removed the message about it when I added manfuacturing time, will add it back tonight) and with basic skills at 5 (Prod Eff 5 for material bill and Industry 5 for manufacturing time)

And I'll make sure to add a "station manufacturing" checkbox in next version of that page too Embarassed

I'll check that too Tamir
Edit : I hadn't updated some stuff when market categories were changed. BC/BS are back at 20% base invention chance and Cruisers/Indies at 25%

A great tool also for me, but i think you're taking the wrong sell prices, or they seems out of date.
For instance the Small Inverted Signal Field Projector II Jita sell price you write is 119,000,000.00, and actually there's no sell order with that price in Jita.
For Small Core Defence Operational Solidifier II jita sell price you write is 110,000,000.00 and there's an order with that price instead, but it isn't the lowest and there's two other orders that are at 49m isk.
So it seems that you take the highest sell order when you should take the lowest one and sometimes the price are out of date.

Is this tool still updated/developed? You need a hand with this? (I saw the same things with PI stuff).
I can develop another tool like this but doing all the interface from 0, gather/create the database for items/bpo infos etc are a waste of time when there's already a tool that does it. Also i think it's time to centralize tools for eve online and not spreading them around, wasting people effort.
Let me know ;).

Oh and i think you should move faction stuff away from T1 stuff.

Any chance you can make this work for people who do inventions?

I input -4 on the for an ME and it error's out.

Otherwise great app, but allowing it to work for Invention folks would open up to use beyond the select few lucky enough to own / afford BPO's.
