Hey guys, just wanted some advice on my Domi fit, yes, I KNOW there are a lot floating around, but I'm looking for advice on THIS one. Mainly on whether the tank's sufficient or not, I think it should be able to gank most missions down before they pose a serious threat but I'd rather be certain before I go get it blown up.

Drones - Garde II, Warden II, Federation Navy Ogre (Don't have the skills for II's myself yet)

236 DPS Tank (Completely Cap-Stable), 794 DPS with Garde's out and Antimatter loaded.

All stats with All L5 skills from EFT. My skills aren't personally all L5 yet, but they're close enough that the difference is pretty small. Oh, and the tank mods are for Angels, don't know the damage distribution well enough to optimise further.

When I was running a sentry domi, I found that 1 LAR and four hardeners was sufficient. It wasn't really comfortable, but it was sufficient.

Angels do primarily explosive/kinetic damage with some EM/thermal. I usually tank them with either 2 explosive and 2 kinetic hardeners or 2 explosive, 1 kinetic, and an adaptive nano membrane. Armor tanks are already decent against EM and thermal damage. I don't recommend the 4 adaptive nano membranes approach. I don't really like the adaptive nano membrane approach; when I put your fit into EFT I only get 57.9% armor resistances, which makes me wince a little thinking about Angels missions.

I think you'll get unlucky and get blown up with that fit if you ever hit the trigger ship too soon and get scrammed, but that's my opinion. I shoot for ~85% or higher tank on a sentry domi against the primary damage types because you really don't have many options but "sit there and soak damage."

There are websites that list EVE damage types, such as this one:
http://www.ogrank.com/content/view/698/59/

At only 9% thermal and 7% EM damage from Angels, those are non-factors. 62% explosive and 22% kinetic damage make an explosive/kinetic weak tank a VERY bad idea.

There isn't four EANM's :P One of them's a reactive if you look closely. Ends up with 70% resists across the board, I know full well how much explosive damage they can drop on you, was under the impression that they did more EM/Therm than that though, so tyvm for the numbers. I'll give your resist layouts a shot and see how it turns out, at the very least, double linked ogre's or sentries should make short work of any eilte figates that pop up.

More than two EANM is a waste even at armor comp V.

you're better served with two rat specific active hardeners.

A 3rd omni helps noticeably. If you must have cap stability, it's preferable to sacrifice a magstab instead of an omni, especially since it doesn't look like you have maxed rail skills, judging from the t1 guns. And oh yeah, rails suck, hard. Also definitely use active hardners instead of stacking all those enams.

The thing to keep in mind is that most common BS sized mission rats such as Gist Commander, Warload and General, do only Explosive and Kinetic damage. It's the smaller ships that do mixed damage, plus some of the more rare types which mix guns for heat dmg or sprew EM/heat torps. They show up in the average, which can be misleading, as it does not take frequency of appearance in typical lvl4 missions into account. Instead of the simplified ogrank.com chart, see this for a better idea:

My comments on this are more to make you think a little.

#1: Is cap stability necessary? I have found that getting myself down to 7 minutes of cap is often a bit too much cap.
#2: The first few missions you run I highly suggest you drop the Federation Navy Omni's for Regular Omni's. If you're going to lose the ship, why risk 2 expensive modules? Put them in when you see where you're standing for tank.
#3: Drop all 4 Adaptive Nano's and go with 3 active hardeners mission specific. The loss from stacking make those pretty useless, and the addition of the target painter (by removing a Cap Recharger for a Cap Control Circuit) will make you actually get closer to your EFT DPS.

Here is my suggestion for you:

[Dominix, For Forums]

[High]
5x 350mm Prototype I Gauss Gun (Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge L)
Drone Link Augmentor I

[Medium]
Phased Weapon Navigation Array Generation Extron
2x Cap Recharger II
2x Federation Navy Omnidirectional Tracking Link

[Low]
Large Armor Repairer II
2x Beta Reactor Control: Capacitor Power Relay I
1x Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
2x Armor Kinetic Hardener II
Armor Thermic Hardener II

[Rigs]
2x Large Sentry Damage Augmentor I

[Sentries]
5x Garde II

The above is cap stable at 19% or so for my toon, which isn't all V's.

Omni tank isn't that great, but you can do mission specific. DPS is a hair south of 800.

Sorry for editing so much, just wanted to mention that while the target painter doesn't show a DPS increase in EFT or EveHQ, I can assure you there is a real advantage to using it.

As you get comfortable with your tank, you can try dropping a Beta Reactor Control for another Mag Stab II and get up to 846DPS while dropping your cap time to 4 and a half minutes. If you get in trouble, while warping out turn off guns and you're cap stable.

I've found that any fit is a work in progress. The above isn't the best fit, but it'll get your level 4's done.

2 active hardeners per resist gives you 90% em/87% therm in the case of domi.

This is what I normally use, tanks 480dps vs. sansha and often more since sanshas in general can't hit a broadside of a barn.

For an AFK set up you might want something like this which takes some 1400 dps without heating or 700 with one repper.
fit doesn't have guns but you can fit 3-4 and some drone comps without too much trouble.

obviously dps in of the brick version is quite sucky but then again doing missions afk isn't about dps.
