The truth about IRCs Leadership and Rising Ashes Dismissal.

My corporation was a member of IRC for some time until we were forcefully removed 2 days before Christmas. Why you may ask, why would an alliance ruin 50+ people's Christmas? Well it goes beyond just ruining Christmas for 50 people and causing stress. One of our members is fighting stage 4 cancer. He has had surgery to remove the majority of the spread resulting in the loss of part of his tongue as well as constant pain and staples in his neck. You may wonder how this has anything to do with leading to our dismissal from the alliance well its like this.

We informed high command about the current situation of our member and that he is still going through radiation, chemotherapy treatments and on heavy pain killers so he can just handle day to day things. Even though he was in such a state Axexut, second in command of IRC, was demanding that our pilot pvp. Our member is barely able to mine, let alone participate in pvp ops. I have morals. I will not stand for this and will not force a member that is fighting a real life-threatening battle to do anything in a game that is made for entertainment purposes. Upon dismissal of the alliance on team speak Axexut said these exact words I hope both you and darkcinder (the cancer patient) die of cancer youre a bunch of *******s" and then banned me from the TeamSpeak.
While Darkcinder was not active in pvp for the alliance, he contributed as an industrial asset, running multiple mining alts simultaneously and building ships with his own BPOs, putting these ships on the IRC market for cost price, helping out every member of the alliance. Which I, personally find more important than 1 extra drugged-up pvp pilot. Darkcinder is physically unable to stay still for extended periods of time and is on such strong painkillers, rendering him unable to concentrate for extended periods. He is barely able to even mine at times, which as you all know is probably the easiest thing to do in Eve.

i have ALL the mails leading up to our leave of the alliance 2 days before Christmas giving us 48 hours to evacuate and will be posting them in this thread, I will also be mailing every corporation in IRC with the information and link to this thread.
Do you truly want to be in an alliance that has no morals that would wish death on someone fighting cancer in real life because they will not participate in a pvp operation? In all honesty I am furious with what has been said and I am sure there are many corporations or even pilots that have had people facing a battle with cancer or aids and know exactly what my pilot is going through, some may have not won the battle. I would like to ask for help to bring this pilot down and IRC. This is not right I will also be petitioning everything to CCP in regards to this matter. You do not wish death on someone who is literally fighting for their life. You do not even wish death on someone normally, especially for something like this. He is physically incapable of being an asset in pvp to this alliance, so he helped majorly in a different aspect, building the ships your pvp pilots lose. Every eve pilot is a real person this is just a game. Have a heart and some consideration. To do something like this before Christmas is just disgusting, especially when it was about one single pilot with a perfectly good excuse not to participate.

ALL these mails are directly copied and then pasted if there are any doubts I will be happy to also screen shot the mails. Another one of our members was also harassed which contributed to our dismissal those mails will also be included.

[04:59:08] Neterti Axexut What are you guys doing up here? EVERYONE should be in 995- area NOW.
995 Deployment
From: Alexis Darkcinder
Sent: 2010.12.09 05:35
To: Axexut,
Ok I am taking a lot of flak for not participating in the 995 deployment. Well quite frankly I can't deploy with you guys for a lot of reasons. I will go over them with you as leader of the Alliance I wil let you decide what I should do.

1: I am fighting stage 4 cancer. I can only play for short periods of time and if I get tired i have to log off and rest. Being in enemy space is never a good place to do that.

2. I have 9 accounts. PVP combat is to rapidly changing to use that many accounts. I pay for them all and I am not paying that much money to play one character ina conflict somewhere else. I have tried to participate in local defense but I am VERY inexperienced and i always seem to come in late and I don't understand the logistics of how it works.

3. I am an industrial force for my corporation. I have focused on all things industrial. I was a hi sec mission runner and I can fly a lot of ships but my talents lay in the fact i can field 4 hulks a rorq with protecton and a haiuller. The other accounts are training cyno ships and running toward hulks.

4. Lastly I had a pretty invasive neck surgery to fight the cancer. I hurt and I am on some heavy drugs to manage the pain of my recovery. I start chemo-therapy next week and radiation the following week. I am in no shape physically to be in tense fighting situations.

Now am I a liability to the alliance should I remove myself and my assets from our space and return to hi-sec space. Or may I continue to support my corporation the only way I can thru industry. I replace my corp-mates losses and am working to provide t2 gear but I am still working that out. I will seed the market with gear for the alliance as i get extra's made but is this enough? Can I stay and stop being harassed. Or have I worn out my welcome here and lost the first real 0.0 home I have ever had.

To: Alexis Darkcinder,
Hello -
I have spoken with Aridia. I understand and please know you do have all our thoughts as you progress through this treatment.

While I do understand your situration, when there is a CTA or HD, we expect EVERY pilot to fleet up. Obviously no one can run nine characters in PVP effectively, but during CTAs, we do expect online pilots to fly at least one character in the fleet. Even an inexperienced pilot can contribute by becoming fast tacke if nothing else. Many of our pilots have (and pay for) multiple characters. When there is a CTA or HD on, we expect at least one of them in fleet. That is an IRC policy and there are no exceptions.
Given your special circumstances, when there is no CTA on, if you wish to mine up in CE, please feel free. But please do not advertise fleets or draw attention to the fact that you are doing such activities while others are here. No other member of your Corp or the Alliance is permitted to join those Ops. If attention is drawn to those ops by lossmails, we have no other choice but to ask you to suspend such fleets until we return to CE. We will still need your most-pvp orientated character to be based in 995- to be available to join fleets. If necessary, you may have to log the character in hostile space. But we have done that time and time again for our fleets and will help get any such stranded pilot home safely.

We are happy to meet you halfway on this, but do require every member to have at least one PVP character in area and ready to fight when needed.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Again, wishing you as smooth a treatment as possible and a quick and complete recovery Alexis.

i read your response to alexis's mail and in all honesty im really upset with it you say you understand the guy is on heavy pain killers and very disoriented and you still want him to take alts to staging area?
im sorry but his real life issues are far more important then killing internet space ships and stressing him out this is a GAME for ENTERTAINMENT in now way shape or form am i negotiating his health and real life matters and i dont expect him to either.
we are in the staging area the rest of the corp is i have been asking for DAYS to get logistics and get ships over here with no response from any carrier pilots. i lost my manti after jumping 25 jumps was lost in 30 seconds cause all pilots were told to warp to station bad fc call.
my net is going to be down for possibly 24 hours time i am happy to call you via home phone my number is ***-***-**** if you want to discuss this.
but i refuse to negotiate alexis darkcinders medical wellbing

I will say it as easily as I can:
We DO NOT care that you were podded.
We get podded on a regular basis.
You WILL NOT be getting an apology.
Standard practices are to die like a man and do it quietly.
If you do not like this, leave.
I have heard your complaint and am not moved.
Cosmo was right.
Die quietly or go to Empire.

cancer affects your in game activity as i'm sure you are aware if someone is expected to do something and cant due to cancer its best to inform the high up of it but no matter what the situation you DONT tell a cancer patient you wish he was dead when hes still in the middle of fighting it and it could go either way. why should someone fighting cancer be treated that way

Aradia, I think airing this grievance here is really not appropriate. Comes down to it, this is internet spaceships. It sounds like you and Axehut got into a heated debate and he decided not to allow you any leeway with this. Using this sort of material to attempt garnering sympathy due to an error in judgement is not really a good thing to do.

I sincerely hope your corp mate's health improves but if he's going through this, he doesn't need this sort of drama. 0.0 is stressful in itself and probably will not help him in his recovery.

If I were in charge of the corp he's in, I would have recommended perhaps he take a leave of absence, take a character out of your corp and go play there till he recovers but keep tabs and have fun with an ALT in highsec with him.

I don't condone the response but I don't condone the use of RL issues as an excuse to not compromise or attempt to work something out before it comes to a head like this.

Just my 2 cents.

i tried to speak with axe before it came to this he blocked me from teamspeak and refused to speak with me regarding this then when i tried to speak to other high command regarding it he told me if i say anything ill just be removed.

the member in question is a close friend not just corp mate i have been flying with him for 3 years he agreed to this post as he does not want someone else to go through the same fate as him. he plays eve and plays in 0.0 to get away from the stress of his condition and he has many accounts to pay for monthly so he couldn't really take a break if he wanted to continue eve.

True, RL stuff should stay out of the game, but excuse me, when it comes to fighting cancer, having surgeries, treatments and trying to survive after all these life threatening days, weeks, months... hearing some geeky internet warrior saying "I hope you die" - this changes everything.

Don't wanna go politics, but I was born in USSR, raised in different ideology than most of you. I was learned from childhood, if you can't stand(take responsobility) for your words, don't say them. In western world it's more like - I'll call you whatever I want, you can't do anything and you can't touch me. Back here, say something like that in a face to face and you will go home with a broken jaw. Is it a right thing to do? No. Will the guy have a lesson for his entire life and think twice before saying anything else in the future? Yes he will.

There's a line between calling someone a d1<k on the internet and wishing cancer patient going through very hard time and treatment to die. And this line was crossed, no matter if it's spaceship game or not, EvE or World of Warcraft, said in private or public, written or verbal... whatever - you will take the responsobility for your words and there will be consequences.

IMO hes an idiot not just because he made fun of friend or RL problems but because, if you have valuble Logistics/Miner/Builders who are newbs in PVP you are ******ed to bring them in fleets.

They serve much better doing what they do building replacement ships and mods to arm the pEWERS, he seems to me very short sighted and more worried about getting all his Carebears in Fleets, and impressing his betters than being truly effective.

So who do you think created the problem, a guy who was trying to play some little EvE after surgery and treatment or a guy saying "hey b1t<h, play more, do this and that. oh you can't, you have cancer? I hope you die"
