I'm sick and tired of having to literally "fish out" targets from underneath "current location" text area

Linkage - a sample of what i mean

As of current situation, the targets bar is showing as much targets in a single row/column as it has space available (not taking into account any windows or other UI elements positioned at the edge of the screen). At higher number of locked targets the last targets usually go under the text area displaying your current location (system, region, constellation, nearest celestial body and other crap). It makes hard to click a target if it's being covered up by another UI element, don't you think? I'm not even speaking of what happens, if some window gets placed there! (no, "watch where you're putting your windows is not a solution).

Now, this issue could be easily solved by adding a simple option to select the number of targets per row/column! The client already has the mechanic to wrap targets if they go "overboard", why not improving it a little bit? Now, furthermore, i remember there was sych an option back in trinity/ea during new overview GUI (when it got windowized) testing on SiSi and it actually worked. Now, the reason why this feature didn't make it into the final release escapes me.

So, pretty please, CCP? Uh, and return control-click-lock on broadcast in b-cast history ability as well while you're at it... You'll get a huge "thanks god, finally" from all of the logistics/carrier pilots out there.

Now, if someone gets question "why the hell would i have more that <insert number that is sufficiently low> targets locked?" he/she should try to fly logistics/triage in a real battle with a lot of people. Because in such battles every additional locked target counts. The ability to lock up to 12 targets is there for a reason.

I suppose you have submitted a bug report and/or created a thread in Feaures and Ideas since this isn't really an issue that can be fixed without an update

As a matter of fact, i did. The point is, i've been pointing at this issue to some csm members, with no results apparently.

Get a wider monitor. Your resolution is 1280x1024 or something?
Get a 19" Wide monitor, 1440x900 or a 22" Wide LCD, 1680x1050. Voila, problem solved.
Now I know it sounds like a dodgy workaround, but a monitor upgrade would generally help you improve your overall PC/gaming experience.

The screenshot was taken at 1440x900, and i won't upgrade my monitor because 20" is good enough for me. This is not monitor issue, but game's problem. Since when does user has to upgrade his hardware to solve specific game problem?

edit: the game's lowest resolution is 1024x768, so the game should be well playable at that resolution as well!

As a workaround you could try to arrange your targets vertically instead of horizontally.

target orientation

It's the little, almost invisible, crosshair looking thingy to the upper right of your first locked target.

CCP is aware of the issue but has not yet publicly acknowledged that the problem exists. I would recommend adding a comment to the issues thread so that LT can add it to the list.

1) I like my targets horizontally;
2) If i arrange them vertically, the crap gets even worse - some targets get hidden behind the capacitor/modules of your ship, where you can't click them at all. Man, this is rediculous...
