OK guys I understand the basic principal behind it but come on. This is one thing IMO that really needs to be looked at. Example you catch a capital ship and begin killing it. The pilot chooses to self destruct and deprive you or the all holy Killmail for you to parade around to your m8's. It a terrible injustice to the pvpers of this game to lose a killmail that they worked for. We should at least change it so you don't get the option if you have aggro.

Since this was the problem with the insurance why not just remove it from the game. No self destruct no more insurance scams.

Yes I know some of you are going to be yelling about self destructing your pod. Since typically the only time you will self destruct your pod is to blood clone. That can easily be settled with a quick run to your closes 0.0 or any -10 pirate hang out. If could be a feature only on pods also.

Actually it's very fair. If you can't kill someone in 2 minutes you obviously did not want/need/deserve that kill.

Though i dont like the killmail-part it would add a nice tactic for fleet fights
Arrow dont pod-kill the hostiles and reinforments will take much longer Laughing

killmails are of no value, no instead if you SD you should do equal damage to any hostile ships within 25km and get a killmail for it.

I like that, though the range should change based on ship type. Like a frig wouldn't have much an explosive range, but a carrier's would be huge.

Yeah its BS for a pilot to do that but its part of the game. Its a chicken sh*t way for someone to not have that mail posted on their already horrible kill/death ratio.

Also as you see here you will never get the care-bears to support it. It doesn't matter anyway , you know the truth and so does the pilot you made self destruct and choose the cowards way out of a fight. The care-bears will only give you grief over the idea. You can tell who the care-bears are , they will come up with stupid ideas about how it should cause massive damage to surrounding ships as its the only way they might end up on a kill mail. Just saying

I don't see why everyone makes such a big deal out of this. The ship was destroyed in combat. There should be a kill mail. It should show the pilot as having inflicted whatever hp was left to his ship as damage, and give the kill mail to whoever got the last shot in before the ship exploded. Great, the pilot denighed loot to the victors. There was still a kill made.

It just one of those things ccp hasn't gotten around to fixing if you ask me. Then again, it's not exactly a pressing issue.

While we are at it can we Get rid of all highsec but jita and other major market hubs, Warpcore stabs, missions, Cloaks for non recon cover black ops ships. Ohhh and well basically everything Carebears have to protect them against Pvpers and the KM god....

Though i agree with the idea its never gonna happen same reason they won't make any changes that will make empire PvE harder.

Quit playing the game for killmails ffs. If it's that important to you, make a fake mail of an unfitted ship, post it to your KB, and state in the comments that it was a self destruct.

If someone self destructs its usually because they feel they're hopelessly outnumbered. Maybe bring less people so by the time they realize they're gonna die they've got less then 2 minutes to live?

Also stuck in a Wormhole!

I would say that a self destruct while being agressed should result in a KM. The Self destructor has denied the killers the modules as loot, but the killers 'forced' the self destruct.

Have the damage done up to destruct logged for the killers, and then the remainder set to a Self Destruct.
This way the KM shows that the guy selfdestructed.

Self-Destruction should still generate a killmail - Self-Destruction should be named as final blow and list how much damage was done.

The each ship should behave like a smart bomb with range and damage equal to their base signature x 20.

2 minutes seems to be a fine timing. Maybe capitals should take longer. Maybe smaller ships should take less...
