They contact YOU,out of the blue, tell you to go "meet" them and at the same time give you a mission offer, and you have 2 choices :

-Drop everything, have fun doing 15 jumps or so one-way,just for hte faction standing as in that time you could easily do 2 or 3 normal missions and get much better pay....

-Give the agent the finger and lose faction standing.(My friend told me he does it all the time)

I agree. How dare they offer you some work for some measly reward. Arrogant bastards. Who do they think they are? Laughing

You do get 24 hours to decide though, so it's kinda your call.

My main beef is that they are always some obscence jump number away from my base of operations.Maybe its just my base location, but i would have assumed CCP would have coded it so that the storlyine agent is located near the station/system where you did the mission that triggered the storyline.

For example i do a mission in system A,it triggers a storyline mission, and the storyline agent is located maximum 5 jumps away from system A.

And you cant choose not to take it either....or you get penalized.Especially new players who are scrambling for any faction rating they can get to unlock level 2 missions.

i agree the time and risk is not worth the reward. Need better rewards to make it work the misison.
Also what is the deal with implants i have not got one for months

I seem to get a storyline mission once a day - I never accept them and I never loose faction. So, just ignore them

Actually it isnt, sometime when I get an offer, I let a few hours pass, before I do the missions (just cuz i'm lazy) and when I finaly reach the area wich is like 10 jumps away, I open the chatt window and I can't accept the missions , he just says "my base is located in bla bla", wich means I WENT ALL THAT WAY FOR NOTHING!!!!! grrrrr :C

happend to me lots of times

And WHYYY do we get the EXACT same mission all over again, huh? its always the one Mordu Commander, 1 ceptor and the 3 frigs, makes me crazy, altho the commander may drop nice loot

Until they fix storyline missions if you don't want to do them just ignore them. It will not effect your ability to get another storyline mission that you may want to take. You will also not lose any faction standing if you just ignore the mission and let the timer run out for it. Just don't talk to the agent offering the mission and accept it if you don't want to do it. You can look at what the mission entails without accepting it obviously...

with my duvolle agent, i used to only have to go a few jumps, but lately ive been doing a bit of work for lai dai and its always been like 14/15jumps, tbh, i dont mind as i feel it is worth the effort, but thats because aswell as needing high lai dai standing i also want a good mordu standing so i can have my alt with me when working out of pure blind. If it wasnt for that, i dont think i would bother with the story line missions at all

Also, you have to remember that isk isnt the only reward, if that were the case every1 would be miningugh

You do not lose standing by refusing a storyline mission.

I actually petitioned this last night. I got told the same.

My real problem was that I was in the middle of a non-fighting mission from my Command agent, and it ended up being a 38 jump round trip for me to get to this agent. First for delivery of current mission items, then back to my regular station to take my combat ship and travel 12 jumps to the location of storyline mission and then back to base. Quite an irritating experience to be honest.
