The purpose of Eve University is not to give you a good time. If you wardec them, they will attempt to make the war as unenjoyable as possible for you. No fancy killmails, no surprise ganks, just a lot of boredom and lost isk. That's the point. From what it sounds, they're already doing a good job of it.

Whether you find any aspect of the game hard at all is irrelevant. Many people enjoy learning the various aspects of Eve in the Uni. I would propose that since the Uni is coming up on 7 years of existence... that you are quite probably wrong (and admitting you don't know what the fk your talking about, i.e. industry is a good example).

OP - Telling Eve Uni how to operate is like any "random-n00b-guy" telling any other corp in Eve how to conduct its affairs... stupid.

Welcome to stupid.

Wait--you wardecced a E-Uni, the premier learning establishment in the Eve universe, a place where they train new players, and then you felt the need to wave your epeen on the forums because they didn't give you free ganks?

Any corporation that decs E-Uni is pretty ****ing pathetic, IMO.

Tru, and question, you joined a "more serious" pvp corp, more serious than what? Certainly doesn't look to be more serious that eve uni.

OP, if you and your "more serious" corpmates can get past your low/nullsec phobia, there's literally tens of thousands of people willing to help you get a bit more training.

Yeah, this is silly.

If you ever want to see just how big eve uni is, set them to light blue on your standings tab and keep track.

If you ever in Minmitar space its crazy. And for my corp its a safety issue. We usually don't mess with eve uni unless they have a member being silly and trying to solo in the few patches of low sec we troll. Any more than 4 Eve Uni guys and we usually let them have the right of way (because if you see 4, there are 40 behind the gate).

not to say you shouldn't avoid eve uni- they are newer players after all. And its a whole lot of fun trying to shoot out the instructors from beneath the mob who are running their combat squads.

And word to the wise - Dont Can Flip eve uni - especially near home systems.... its like hitting a honets nest full of wolverines...

But feel free to can flip around them... every once in a while youll have one their guys on "Security" just lock you up and shoot you without agro... Good way to help eve uni teach about agro mechanics...

As for WD them... not even smart bombs will save you when the NOOB RAGE(TM) comes down upon thee.

I'd just like to make an advance apology to the pirates in losec around the E-UNI headquarters - unfortunately someone has declared war on us again, but only have nine members, so expect the typical small fleets to be significantly bigger for the next week or so. Sorry.

Also, with the feedback from the OP, I have written a new 'form letter' for E-UNI wartargets, copies of which are available on request.

Oh man... It's this topic again!

As an ex member of E-UNI and the ILN, I can honestly say, they did exactly what they say they do. They don't give you easy ganks and when they do fight, there is about a snowballs chance in hell that you will win.

Any corp that decs the Uni is not a "more serious PVP corp". No matter how you look at it, you will only be classified as a pathetic bunch of e-failures for doing it.

To E-UNI; Keep up the good work o/

I welcomed the war dec as it pulled me out of my missioning reverie and got me motivated again for fleet ops. I'm a new player, I joined Eve Uni roughly 2-3 weeks in (bearing in mind I waited approx 2 weeks in the queue) and am now less than 3 months into the game. While I've been in the uni we've been war decced a few times and generally it's by small corps with less than 20 members. They often complain when we "blob", but as pointed out several times in this thread our tactics are not a secret and anybody who has the ability to read and click buttons can find this out. But, this has been said many times so I won't dwell on it.

The OP has made mention quite a few times about sending ships up the pipe to our HQ in Aldrat and implied we ran at the sight of them. Although part of this statement is incorrect (in that we don't mission when at war, any 'taxes' hitting the corp wallet from missioning will get you kicked out) the rest of it is in a sense true. However, the full story on this has not been told and I think it only fair to tell it. The ships that were sent to our HQ generally orbited the station at 150km+, which as everyone knows is quite a distance and for most people and most ships out of targeting range. We did field a few small gangs to chase them (I was a part of several) but as expected they fled. It was during these small ops where our WT's managed to snipe a few frigs. There were other instances in which a bigger fleet arrived in our system but, strangely, these had OOC RR support. I say strange because in one of the blogs on our WT's CEO's website he condemns their use (whilst in another blog admitting to using them, he is a confusing man). An enemy of this arrangement is quite difficult to deal with; new as we might be we know sending dozens of frigs against an enemy who we're not even allowed to shoot when we arrive is futile. We did engage these enemy fleets a couple of times, and even manage to destroy one of the OOC RR's, but again as has been said these enemy fleets were often near a station and would dock up quite quickly.

It has been mentioned in our enemies posts in this thread that they wanted a fight. So did we. I was in a fleet every night during our war, sometimes more than one, and we rarely saw you. Fleets were sent to your hometown several times but then we stopped because you played docking games or orbited hundreds of KM's away from us sniping frigs. For the latter half of the war we ended up going about our normal routine in heading to low-sec to fight pirates and during our war we had more action from doing this. Our blob was in fact hit by an even bigger blob and we lost a hell of a lot of ships, which was incredible amounts of fun. And while this was happening you were sat in your station, or near a station, or a few hundred KM's orbiting ours, writing posts complaining about the lack of action you were seeing.

Something else which is always mentioned in threads moaning about Eve Uni is that we're all "noobs". Unfortunately I think a lot of people who say this don't understand what "all" actually means and suggest you look it up in a dictionary. Or, perhaps, clearer guidelines on what is "noob" and what isn't needs to be laid down. Whenever I've been in a fleet, or doing anything else for that matter, there has always been a large number of experienced players on hand to help. We have strict rules on what we can field in a war and with what fitting and noting that we field large numbers of battleships (with strict rules on how they can be fit) it stands to reason that those fielding battleships have had to have played the game for a minimum period to train the skills required to fit the ship as per the uni rules. This therefore battles with the notion that the uni is "all" "noobs".

I mean no offense to anyone from the Nova or UFSOL. I enjoy being at war and enjoy going on fleet ops, I just felt what has been said doesn't tell the full story. We finished this war with a lot more ships lost (mainly frigs) but with the isk ratio in our favour. If I remember correctly one of your members (the CEO IIRC) lost two dramiels to us, one of which was killed by our POS gun. I was confused at this, and still am, as this particular member by all rights is very experienced, but being less than 3 months into the game I know enough to not go up against a POS (and how to avoid them) in this way.

Anyhow, it was a pleasure fighting you guys and I wish you the best of luck in your future "juicier targets" wars.

Does the new letter include mention of how blobbing tactics will also extend to forum ridicule when the letter recipient whines on the forums about how E-Uni vaguely fails at some poorly defined standard of PvP? Or perhaps where they can get some cream to soothe all the butt-hurt? Laughing

You chastise a learning institution for not fighting you but yet you yourself don't have the skills or competence to fight real PvPers in lowsec or null? But instead you want to engage in Empire wars?

I was just about to ask about this, but lo and behold, a step ahead of me. : > This is very cool. Do the proceeds of the sales go into PLEX that are turned into ISK to support your charitable cause?
