You could probably **** faces with anything ewar. Like seriously, decent skills + TD, Sensor Damp, ECM... I've always liked Gallente kiting dampener setups with speed, drones, and rails. |

Dramiel. It gives a fat 100% bonus, that makes 2 artilleries hit like 4, out doing the Rifter. Plus, you can actually tank it. |

Is it one-on-one, or free-for-all? In one-on-one fights in M.Corp Academy, we had a few types that worked well:
1. Rifters or Merlins with warp scrams and webs who could get in close. 2. Kestrels with the speed to stay out of range and lob missiles from afar. 3. Griffins with a good pilot, but you may need Thermodynamics to break the enemy tank.
Other ships won battles, of course. Skills, overheating, and the rock-paper-scissors effect all make a huge difference. But for my part the three ideas above are good bets.
Note that if the rules stipulate starting at 0km, things are different, and it's all Rifter vs Rifter stuff.
When we had our tournaments, if I recall correctly, we picked a particular planet as the battle site, and combatants were allowed to choose for themselves what at what distance they warped, and from which direction, so you couldn't predict starting range. |

in the rules we had no warp out , so nn warp scram unless you wanna null their possible MWD advantage , also i like your idea with planet warp , because with that known starting range some frigs could have few volleys advantage :) |

well , this looks sweet on paper , but can`t be fitted on my toon unless i have a 5% PG implant , which i don`t have  Dunno why though , cause i have perfect fitting skills ... also please don`t suggest faction or pirate frigates ^^ |

You need shield upgrades V and AWU IV to fit it without any implants. Edit: If you don't have Shield Upgrades V... Just remember to overheat your hardener at the beginning of the fight. Edit also consider this fit.. Since you don't need a warp scram this would be able to keep any frigate pinned at 10km which is right at the edge of the falloff of a rifter with barrage. Any frigates with blasters would be screwed and those with autos would have less EHP and DPS than you at that range. |

I like it. Might consider swapping a purger for an extender though; 1000 ehp for a loss of 4 hp recharge seems like a fair trade. |
