When i have played EVE and i quit my screen/desktop is darker. I can only fix it by CTRL-ALT-Del and then select Task manager this pops my screen bright.

Using Windows 7 Pro 64-bit and an ATI HD5830 graphics card. Using the latest Catalyst drivers 10.11 date 11/17/2010

I am having the same problem. I have a dual monitor setup. I use left monitor to display Eve and the right for internet. When I start Eve and then use the internet screen my Eve display typically reverts to Windows 7 desktop. The monitor, however, is much darker than usual. This did not happen with previous versions of Eve. So it appears screen brightness is drastically reduced.

Make sure your colour depth in EVE is set correctly, either 24bit / 24bit colour with 8bit alpha. This is a bug with Radeon cards and the colour setting not matching up with the desktop settings.
