Dear CCP,
It has now been over a month since you broke the editors and evemail. Aside from wishing to remark on the fact that your QA department (you do have one right ?) totally dropped the ball on this one (*cough* again) could you please provide some insight in how much longer the fix is going to take ?
Really annoyed customer, Louis
P.S. *hugs*
p.s.s. Please rush deploy the PI improvements cause I hate that too
p.s.s.s. xxx

For all practical purposes, they do not have a QA department. A couple of people at most. My guess would be that the programmers do their own testing and that's "good enough" for management. |

Here we have CCP...a game company that has given and still does give free expansions twice a year where other games charge you. Here is CCP who has improved the game with graphics upgrades and massive amounts of added content over the years (all for free) where other games have not. Here is CCP creating innovating and industry changing things like CARBON and DUST 514. And then there is the OP of this thread and people like him who constantly ***** and moan about little nearly inconsequential bugs...I call these people "ass's". There are always bugs...in EVERY game. Just because CCP doesn't fix it the next day does not mean they aren't working on it. Name me one game, one expansion, just ONE mmo that does not have bugs.
Sick of the *****ing,

No, other games call it content patches. They do charge for addons, but those usually deliver A LOT more content than an EVE addon. Usually an addon affects everybody playing the game. That's absolutely not the case with EVE addons. Not a bad thing or anything, after all they don't charge for it. Just saying you can't compare them just because the same term is used for it. Originally by: Vertisce Soritenshi Here is CCP who has improved the game with graphics upgrades and massive amounts of added content over the years (all for free) where other games have not.
All the MMOs I have played have continously delivered graphics (and content) updates. I mean even SOE does that occasionally and they're really the kind of guys whose only interest lies in sucking every last $ out of a product. Originally by: Vertisce Soritenshi Here is CCP creating innovating and industry changing things like CARBON and DUST 514.
Do you even know what carbon is? Other than a nice marketing gag? I grant you that point on Dust, it's a novel idea. Don't really think it'll work out since console games are usually short lived, but I guess it's worth a try anyway. Originally by: Vertisce Soritenshi And then there is the OP of this thread and people like him who constantly ***** and moan about little nearly inconsequential bugs...I call these people "ass's".
Well, it's up to you to invalidate your arguments by calling people names, but really, why do you presume that those issues are inconsequential? You certainly wouldn't say so if your playstyle required you to use those buggy tools. Originally by: Vertisce Soritenshi There are always bugs...in EVERY game.
Yes, but the world is not black and white. Do the words "more" and "less" have any meaning to you? Because this game might be more (or less) buggy than other games. How does it compare to the mmo average?... Originally by: Vertisce Soritenshi Just because CCP doesn't fix it the next day does not mean they aren't working on it.
The problem is that they pushed a patch live that does nothing for the players. It was just a change in background technology and while that's certainly "a (very!) good thing" in the long run, it doesn't mean you have to inflict it in such a state on the player. They could have just waited until it was ready or released it along with the next expansion. Originally by: Vertisce Soritenshi Name me one game, one expansion, just ONE mmo that does not have bugs.
Ya, well, here we go black and white again.... more, less, you know? Originally by: Vertisce Soritenshi Sick of the *****ing,

Edited by: Sin15 on 19/11/2010 18:32:26 Edited by: Sin15 on 19/11/2010 18:28:45 Carbon Technology is a refresh of the framework and assets that have been used in EVE over the course of its life. I just wanted to clarify that. (Since Trinity2, that is)
I'm not really sure how it is a considered a marketing gag, considering the fact that they haven't claimed anything more than a refresh of the old. To be honest, there aren't too many MMO developers that actually refresh old assets. |
