Bjork was huge at some point in the mid-90s, and her zany videos ubiquitous. Most of these were done by surrealism overlord Michel Gondry, who also collaborated with many other bands to create videos that became iconic, though the stuff he made with Bjork was probably the most well known, starting with her first single "Human Behaviour".

He later jumped into movies, making brilliant little gems of surreal bizarrity such as "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", and my personal favourite, "The Science of Sleep".

Her music definitely refuses to be background music. I absolutely can't be doing anything else when her music plays, because her voice arrests me from whatever I'm trying to multitask. There's something phenomenally ageless about her music.

Hali is a psychotic true-slave who habitually 'liberates' people for the glory of Lord Sansha; but she does it so they can join her in a hive-mind, which is like this all the time...

I just think she's a bit of a 'space cadet'. Which no one minded when she was young and cute, but now that she's older people have less patience for that sort of thing.

Her singing drives me crazy. But there's no accounting for personal tastes.

Mad as a lorry but I like her, her cover of "it's oh so quiet" is one of my favorite tunes, but shes done lots of other great stuff.

Oddly I could never get away with the Sugar Cubes.

It's this weird feeling I get when I listen to her music, most noticable in the song that I linked, it is like I find out that I am dying but have so much energy to do everything that it makes me feel so real that I actually feel alive.

I know that sounds messed up but that is the best way I can describe it, im yet to get stoned to her music

that video is awesome: lesbian robot love. the director, chris cunningham has a pretty unique style that completments her music rather well. another of my favorites is one he did for aphex twin: rubber johnny

Speaking of Chris Cunningham's perverse and disturbing visual language, this thread needs now linkies to a couple other classic videos he made for the Aphex Twin: Come To Daddy, and Windowlicker.

I once had a girlfriend weird like Björk and looking very much alike, voice and all only blond and prettier.

It's sometimes a painful reminder triggered by Björk but more often I chose to remember the good times.

She also makes her own clothes and likes to physically attack (and who would not like to do that!)nosy a$$hole journalists with their impertinent questions.

What was the movie where her name was Selma, she was a blind lady trying to bring up a son who get her money (she needed for her sons operation) ripped off by the cop she thought she could trust?

Now that was damn good too!

Edit: Dancer in the Dark

She is specially crazy in a great waySmile
