recently thinking about the black op ships and realized there's one small flaw to a fleet of these roaming the backwoods of 00, the inability to change up mods on the fly. Carriers would work, outside of needing a cyno and being within jump range of said ships, ammo and fuel can be shipped in to them via T2 indies... but to change up mods during a long term fleet, neither work well...so what I was thinking is something along the lines of a T2 transport with a small ship maintenance bay, say about 1000m3 in size (just enough for a few mods at one time) and 4 or 5K m3 cargo room.

yeah some say use the orca but that thing makes my freighter look fast and there's no way in hell I would jump it into 00 even knowing the gates been cleared.

I dig it. It's not the same old "omg idea for new ubar dps ship/sub-carrier carrier!"... and I think this game has room for more ship roles outside of standard tank gank combat or missioning. This would be a true logistics ship.

This is something i've been thinking of for a while now too. There are lots of opportunities to add more support ships that give bonuses to the various tasks you have to go about aside from fighting.

A good example of this is the Noctis, being added in Incursion. While we never *needed* a dedicated Salvage vessel, it's certainly going to be great to have and not something i'm going to complain about.
With it's bonuses to tractoring and salvaging, it's even going to be possible to, with relatively safety, easily salvage up after a huge battle in low and/or nullsec with only a couple of these on the field.

I would love to see more ships in this vein. Not out-and-out Industrials but neither combat. A small support niche with some select but useful ships that anyone would want to have nearby.

384 page views on no ones flamed it yet? Shocked sounds like CCP should toss this idea around a bit.

No, people find it so pointless, that they don't even want to be bothered with flaming.

I do like this idea. A supply ship, maybe?

A Tender.

Battleship hull.

Few high slots. RR bonuses

Good tank.

Only fits RR/ECM drones.

Allows any fleet member to take modules out of their ship's cargo hold and place them in Tender's "refit" hold for refitting purposes. All modules left after refit can be placed back in fleet member's cargo hold.

2500 meter range for refit.

1 refit access at a time.

Something like that maybe???

I am honestly impressed. This is a good idea although there is one part I would change. You already have BR's which can haul along with the BO fleet so the cargo option might not be needed. But perhaps a BO-style ship with a fitting service? Maybe some rep bonuses on it as well.

Edit: those Tier 2 BCs and Tier 3 BS's could use a T2 variant. CCP you know you want to do this.
