I like very much the idea of the Sansha Incursions.
But having read the Devblog on Incursions I am very much disappointed.
Specifcally the rewards being offered for those that "Participate" and the mechanics behind those rewards.
System wide effects:
Reuction of NPC bounties by 50%
Possibilty to participate is directly proportional to ISK earning power.
Show me the money:
1) High sec missions give 100 Concord LP per person PERHAPS.
2) If too few or too many "Participate" then no rewards are given or a drastically reduce reward.
3) The best reward is in low sec.
High sec "Incursion" will be boycotted as a waste of time.
Those wishing to "participate" may be disappointed or cause a problem such that no one gets rewarded -> waste of time.
The best reward is in low sec,, level 5 missions all over again. Reward the corps in low sec.
I've got to ask why has so much of our subscription real life money being spent on an "expansion" only a few can "participate" in ?
Most people are going to avoid this content like the plague, be upset their leisure time has been affected and be very annoyed/disappointed that again an "expansion" comes out that isnt playable.
Why can't the sites escalate according to the number of people wishing to participate with seperate "dungeons" created for each fleet participating ?
Why can't high sec "Incursions" be of at least the value of doing level 4 missions over the same amount of time taken to do the incursion ?
Why can't the incursions increase in size and complexity according to the total SP or ships being deployed by the group ? Hell even throw in some extra waves if it turns out the players are doing well ?
Who knows, players might actually have some FUN
Bright ideas like seeing Sansha begin to take over asteroid belts, planetary stations who knows wormholes even for moving their spoils out of systems would have been nice. Hell lets see some Sansha hauliers moving trade goods and captured population that even noobs can take out and feel part of Eve.
Would have been nice to see staging areas in WH space which then launch into connected systems.
Way, way too much effort spent on trying to cause players grief on the rewards stakes and not enough effort on trying to be INCLUSIVE and getting people to PARTICPATE and maybe even being REWARDED so they can make they own FORTUNES in low sec and null.
10/10 for idea.
