I am looking to replace my keyboard soon. Atm, I am using a Logitech wave design. I like the Idea of a gaming keyboard, but I don't see many that offer the curved design as an option. Are the Logitech G15/19s worth it, or have you found something that works for you?

I wish someone would design a keyboard that has all those features and can survive the occational ham-fisted fits of fury that comes with the serious buisness of internet spaceships. : ]

I have a G15 (first series), the LCD screen is fantastic if you're on voice with a large number of people, making it easy to identify who's talking. The macro keys are also great (and allowed in EVE). I use it for drone control, F-key grouping, opening scanner, stop ship etc etc.

Used to pay good money for keyboards but eventually realised that price is no idication of quality.

This is what I'm using. I like it.

Not optimized for EVE though, the F-keys are crap.

I've got a Das Keyboard Professional.

I've got it mainly for comfort and work (really, I only have it for the switching mechanism) but it's been rock solid.

New? Did they change it? I know retailers are sometimes slow to move stock and try to push older modles before they get the new ones

I use a MS ergonomic. It seems a bit clunky, but works ok.

I spent 15 minutes in Staples trying to find a keyboard which wasn't wireless last time i bought one. As if it's common for people to walk around their house while they type or something. Pretty ridiculous.

Bought some cheap Microsoft one with the only notable feature being its spill resistance. Which is good, because my last one died after spilling wine all over it while playing EVE.

Original G15 then a Cyborg. Currently using a G110/G13 combo until the G510 arrives.

Original G15 died when the evil children decided to see how much liquid the keyboard would hold.

The new smaller G15 didn't appeal so I tried the Cyborg, the macro keys at either end of the keyboard were too easy to accidentally bump and seemed to stick more often than not. Evil children killed this keyboard as well.

The G110/G13 combo works great but the G13 is overkill for just playing eve.

The G510 looks like a worthy successor to the original G15 and IMHO is what Logitech should have done in the first place instead of that horrid little G15 and weird G19.

Original G15. The only features I actually care about/use consistently are the backlight and the LCD display set to show CPU and ram usage.

LCD is pretty much useless for any game data as it's on a completely different focal plane than the monitor, and most anything I could think of putting on the LCD (e.g. vent) can easily be displayed on my second monitor where it's much easier to see.

If I were to get a new keyboard I'd look for:
comfortable to use
easy to clean
not wireless

I'm still using my old G15 with the flip up screen. I've owned it for forever (7 years or so I think), it's crusty from food and drinks being spilled on it, and I have thrown it several times in anger (not from the game though lol) but it still works like a champ.

Logitech all the way. All the rest is either cheap crap which sucks or expensive crap which costs twice as much as Logitech products and also sucks. I have tried both, and I know what I'm talking about.

If you don't want to spend money on fancy stuff like LCDs that you think you don't need, get a G11. It's a great keyboard that will last as long as 3 cheap ones that cost the same in total.

Old Northgate user checking in. This is the closest I found to their Elite keyboards (which I actually still have someplace).

Yes, its a bit expensive, but its lasted about 7 years now and can probably last another 14 or so. Wink Bought two - the other one should be at work, but it's getting cleaned up right now.
