I read about artillery on an Abaddon. I'd like to see a few fits.

Take normal beambaddon.

Remove beams and heatsinks.

Weld on arty.

Enjoy your new mobile artillery bunker.

Why would you even want to. I'm sure it'll work, but you'll not get any of the the Abaddons bonuses to lasers.

Works like a charm for POS work or if the enemy sucks away your cap like a sparkly TV vampire . If you want dps then yea, stick with lasers.

Why would you wanna put a cap injector on there? The only active modules (not counting damage control) are the mwd (which I hope you don't intend to permarun) and 2 low-cap midslot items.

Only really useful in 3 situations

- expecting to be neuted to fek
- if you absolutely positively want to do explosive damage
- if volley damage is more important than dps

If DPS is important and you KNOW that not doing explosive isn't much of an issue, don't use artie.

I crossdress some amarr ships with projectiles but those tend to be the ones without a DPS bonus.

The arty abaddon concept has been around a while. Using a quick comparison its actually quite viable.

Compared to other minmatar bs assuming lv 5 skills

Abaddon: 8 effective turrets, 25% resist bonus, 7 lowslots and 4 med slot for buffer, range and gyros
Tempest: 9 effective turrets (less alpha though), no additonal bonus, 6 lowslots and 5 medslots for buffer, range and gyros
Maelstrom: 10 effective turrets (same alpha as abaddon), rep bonus (not useful for fleets) 5 low slots and 6 meds slots etc.

so the abaddon can fit a much better armor tank than other minmatar ships, whilst maintaining the same alpha. A 2 gyro abaddon has roughly the same dps as a 1 gyro armor tempest whilst having almost twice the ehp (which is significantly enhanced when using legion/damnation boosters).
Considering we are now in the age of bombers and logi fleets, the extra resists and buffer of the abaddon isn't such a bad option

20 arty abaddons can alpha almost anything subcapital at 70+ km. essentialy it's a counter to logistics-heavy fleets.

Remember that you will only fire the guns every 27 secs (ish), so make every hit count.
