Chances are this is not worthy of a new thread.
But I can't think of where else to bring it up.

It's been over 2 years since trinity, and I brought up a bug report on sisi about the autocannon texture. it's not unwrapped correctly... at all.

And they replied, and said they would fix it. Well... here we are years later...

come on cpp, learn to unwrap :/ the normal map isn't even on the gun, all those details are lost.

But in all honestly I love you guys and you make amazing stuff. : ) No game out there IMO compared to ccp in art direction and skill (for an mmo)

But come on, or else I'll to apply to go work at ccp to help you guys unwrap :P


Fake edit: in case no one knows what your looking at the UV on the back of the gun shows the whole texture map and uv layout. to be honest it just kinda makes me laugh every time I fly a rifter, not a big deal in the end run since I know they are retexturing all the ships.

Has anyone else ever noticed that they reused the mesh of the Ferox model on the Caldari border gates? Go take a look. You'll see the shape of the Ferox embedded in it.

hey actually... look at that texture I posted... I don't even think most of those details are suppose to be on the gun. the UV layout doesn't seem to match... is that the texture map for something completely different?

Also wouldn't that cause a lot of fleet lag if larger guns had it to? the rez on the back of the gun is more than the whole ship!

That's actually a good point, the resolution is pretty crazy. The texture itself doesn't look anything like it's made for a gun (Maybe the T2 version?), I'm thinking they've used ship textures for more than just gates... I mean there are a lot of places on that texture which are just generic and brown, they'd only need a corner to do a low res skin.

I'm honest baffled I really wish a dev would step in and slove this mystery :/ the shapes on the texture look pretty cool too. Maybe someone out there reconised it from something else?

but yeah I think your on to something, maybe the whole gun is using s different texture and they misclicked a UV and left it at default. Or it broke off or something. doesn't seem like it would be a big fix...
