So you really think soloing high level complexes or level 5 missions are just 'simple jobs' ? Rolling Eyes

And in any case what are people supposed to do with this uninsurable overpriced 'flashy crap?

What are officer mods for? Why are they even in the game?

I still lol at how a minority of pvpers are so dumb.

You call people dumb but fail to realise so much

show me level five missions and high level complexes in high sec. Regardless these ARE simple jobs, you just need to memorise how they work.

You can use this flashy crap/ officer mods on more than a level 4 mission boat. Most of that ships fitting really belongs on a supercap. Granted you CAN use it on your pve boat of choice but you shouldn't be surprised when you become a target. Just because you can fit these items doesnt mean its OK to use them. It generally shows you are clueless and are just thowing money at something needlessly.

I like how you think this is as simple as a PVPers vs mission runners disagreement.

Wrong, thats EXACTLY what high sec should be unless ccp likes losing customers. Players SHOULD have a choice as to how they wish to play the game they pay to play. EVE is never completely safe as your corp can always be war decced, but if any person can be killed anywhere at anytime.. they just need to drop the concord, hi sec, war dec mechanic altogethor, as its useless. And also watch a huge chunk of EVE rage quit. I don't particularly CARE for the players that would quit but it would be bad business for EVE and anything that hurts EVE is NOT a good thing. Thusly my conclusion is that pirates being able to profit at all in anyway by killing a non-war decced target in hi sec is BAD for eve and should not be allowed. All loot gained should be deleted from the looters accounts and any isk made should be stripped. Dont ban the players just ban their profits. Make it so everytime they do it the only thing they gain is a ship loss and a kewl killmail. Sort of like the badguys robbed the bank yes, but got CAUGHT.

Um, if CONCORD deals out punishment, I have yet to see it. Losing a ship and a secstat hit is hardly punishment. CCP, get medieval up in EVE. Make it fun again, and let the butthurt flow through the gankers.

Then the lulz can begin. Until then, EVE is fail.

I just have to reply here.
I dont feel sorry for the people who lost those expensive fitted ships. I agree with the saying "dont fly what you cannot afford to lose".
I still believe a cheaper fitting can do the job, i know those expensive mods have nice stats, but for me it does not outweigh the costs.
Hence, its the reason i hardly fly t2 ships.

To the ones who shot these ships, its a lucrative business and i can imagine its quite fun.
And yes, safety is a relative thing in eve, one is never 100% safe. (maybe docked in an NPC station)

What would be particularly fun about sitting completely safe in high sec in a group of insured battleships, firing one shot and then getting blown up by concord?

I don't pay to play this game and haven't done so since you could buy gtcs with isk. The introduction of gtcs was wonderful enough but then they introduced TRADEABLE plexes!! Oh joy oh joy Very Happy Now not only could I pay for my game time in isk but I could actually trade in plexes too. The gravy train RUNNETH OVER.

For the last few years, as a professional carebear my only contacts in game have been with other carebears. Nobody that I know has paid for gametime in real money for years.
I would assert that the vast majority of carebears don't pay either.

So the question is.......who's paying my subscription? Which kind person is handing over real cash so I can play this game?

You guys might be a bit snobby about WOW........but one things for certain there....EVERYBODY pays their monthly sub!!

Quick word about Hulkageddon. On the assumption that most hulks killed will be chinese isk farmers who's paying their subscriptions? They can earn 100m per hour mining so I dont imagine for one moment they pay for subscriptions in cash. Who's paying the chinese isk farmers subs?

Now let's suppose two hardcore pvp alliances have a huge battle involving the loss of untold billions of isk worth of ships. The losers go buy lots of plexes to buy isk with so they can buy replacement ships from the very industrialists who are already playing for free thus enabling them to play for free even longer.

The more intelligent of you will be getting the picture here.

So the next time you kill a 20b carebear ship remember that you guys prolly already paid for it with your hard earned real money.

Have a nice day Very Happy

I find there are 2 different types of players in Eve on average. There are Role Players who want to play the game in character and enjoy being a space pilot, mining, mission running and PVP. They exist to enrich the game atmosphere.

Then there are the griefers, the parasites. Those who only derive pleasure from other people's pain. They exist to torture the first group.

CCP designed this game to be an open sandbox, to see what the players would make out of the lack of instituted control. Unfortunately, the griefers took that as a sign of weakness and exploited Eve's every game mechanic to their own advantage. CCP obviously cares little about it either way.

They let metric tons of Jokers run rampant causing havoc and they deny us a Batman. They won't curb this sort of behavior until it begins to affect their bottom line and by the time it happens, it will be too late to fix things. Eve has become Gotham City ran by Arkham asylum patients. (Sorry for excessive Batman references, got carried away.)

Well, when all the Role Players have been driven off by whats becoming a griefing epidemic, the intelligent among us will sit back and tell CCP "I told you so". Remember, the Wild West didn't stay the Wild West forever, the country could not have survived and prospered if it did.

They exist to enrich the game atmosphere, in my opinion. In others' opinion, these people might be seen as amusing but hey, it's a game, let them be.

Then there are the people who play the game differently...they chose their own path. I don't understand them, and I hate them because they aren't playing the way I think they should. I think they only derive pleasure from other people's pain, and I can't see that they simply want to play a game. I seem to think that they exist to torture the first group...but far be it from me to actually try to understand their style of play or even to experience it myself. I'd rather sit around and pass judgement and call people names.

CCP designed this game to be an open sandbox, to see what the players would make out of the lack of instituted control. The holier-than-thou national socialists (like me) want to grief the entire Eve community and change Eve's every game mechanic to my own advantage. CCP designed this game to let players (for the most part) invent their own style of play and adapt to their surroundings, and since I have no official capacity to change it the way I want, I'm going to ***** and whine in the forums to let everyone know how I think they should be playing the GAME.

'...stuff about Batman...'

'...predictions about the END OF EVE...'.

Fixed it for you...btw, you do realize that YOU can be the the Batman in your little scenario? YOU make your own way and YOU can make a difference!!! It's the sandbox!!! (didn't you watch any of the videos by CCP?)

Either way, its only my opinion and I don't expect anyone to have to agree with it. Its not that I don't like PVP or pirates, they have their place in the game and its an important one. My point wasn't that you're just whining (which I also might have made fun of); my point was that you are very quick to be judgemental; ascribing motives and namecalling while elevating yourself to a holier-than-thou position while you are doing the exact same thing that you ascribe others to do: griefing.

I'm going to attempt to get the quote from CCP on this: "Eve wasn't just designed to look like a harsh universe, it was designed to be a harsh universe." People play this game because of that. Just because you don't agree with their choices for gameplay doesn't make that style of gameplay invalid for this game. Under your rules what would we have? A PVP server and a PVE server? Before people could get into fights they'd have to accept a 'duel' request? Sounds a lot like another popular game that is already fulfilling the need for a structured enforced ruleset.

Then you backpedal a little and say you don't have anything against PVP or Pirates and their role is 'very important'...wtf dude. Do you think real pirates sent a letter to the commodore of the Royal Navy requesting they meet for a fair fight and 'take from each others can'? Or do you think that perhaps a pirate would attack a merchant ship or an expensive 'loot pinata' if the opportunity arose?

Then lastly you say "My only hate is against the ones that are here solely to ruin other's enjoyment for their own grief boner". Did George Orwell rise up and grant you a commission in the Thought Police? Again, you're ascribing motivations and generalizing without knowing or understanding the motivations of others. Just because you'd do something to get a 'grief boner' doesn't mean others do something for the same reason. Hate is a pretty strong word for players in a game. If you're actually 'hating' somebody because of this, perhaps you should go take a break and get out into the real world. Anyway...How would you differentiate between a player who kills an untanked hauler in Jita to get 100m in loot purely for the isk gain (no thoughts of griefing or grief boners at all)...from the so-called 'griefer' who kills a 5B pimped-out battleship? Oh wait, you'd probably say pirates only stay in lowsec and nullsec...and griefers are in hisec...right? PvP zones and PvE zones and all that...here's a thought...what if the player, a roleplayer, is actually playing a pirate, who gets grief boners and all that, from taking opportunities and isk away from other players?

tl;dr New term to be added to urban dictionary soon 'Grief Boner'

The problem is not that EvE is dying. Its not.

The problem is that taking advantage of imba mechanics is gonna lead to the inevitable nerf. And then the suiciders who get nerfed are gonna find another imba mechanic and use that till that gets nerfed.

The problem with CCP nerfs is they are usually ****ty and affect a whole bunch of other people who weren't abusing an imba mechanic. Just have to look at CCP, imba mechanics and the nerfs that followed to "fix" them to see what I'm talking about.

I havent' been suicided, I even suicided a few times, I really don't care if someone gets blown up in his Tengu cause he only had a 17kehp tank. I do care when the game gets screwed up by idiots who can't seem to play without 110% surety of safety and success.

Some players are working their asses off in this game to afford a shiny boat with which they can enjoy missions and make extra ISK. Building the ship they've ever dreamed off. Then some RAVEN dudes come along and suicide gank it ....

Suicide ganking such a boat in hi-sec is imo just childish, its a mixture between anger and jealousy, while the KM in the end doesnt give the real, expected satisfaction.

Suicide ganks are simply one way to play the game. It can be profitable, or it can just be for entertainment. It's far more like actually playing a videogame than grinding endlessley just so you can pimp your grindmobile is.
