New Eden Political analyst, impressin charges.

I Am currently looking for work as diplomat and any other form of public relations for corporations of New Eden. If my services are needed they will be provided to the best of my ability.

Resume: University of Kentucky: masters of political science and minor in economics

New Eden, what i now equate to Somalia in the world we live in today, Chaos abundant and Alliances, like local warlords, battling for power. Peace is what we all strive for, except when we put or selves behind a computer screen. It seems that with this veil between us and the rest of the universe we feel free to kill, pillage and make life hell for others. What are we gaining? Nothing except for more isk. Maybe it's me maybe I don't have the drive to conquer, but what i do have a problem with is making even a fictional life hell for another.

When you venture in to low sec and especially into 0.0 space you enter a new world different than the 5 months which you have spent in high sec, if your lucky. You begin to see how necessary escorts and friends are. Pirates roam for easy pickings, Alliances Vie for territory. My few instances in no Sec has been terrible, making me almost begin to question myself in the game. Now i know I dont need to question what i did wrong, but what I can do now in the future. I now have an intensive knowledge of how this world works much like our own "Earth". Equate each Alliance as a country, and each corporation as a state or providence. you can know see this world to come into perspective.

I think the most major problem is that many of us do not understand that with war comes great profit but loss which is not so much felt within a virtual world, but loss is still present. Today's world needs peace, because we are all interconnected, globalism has taken hold. For Economies to prosper peace and trade is needed. Now imagine we apply the peace keeping system we enjoy into New Eden. The UN could be transformed to represent each alliance in 0.0 and a separate entity in low sec. This "UN" would allow alliances to coordinate and provide each other with benefits but also defend each other to continue the symbiotic relationship. I know that we will have alliances with would not join this "UN" and this is where the system of war comes in but now it does not ruin the game experience for many people. with the outlier corporations we will always have a source of conflict. These will vie for territory, and generally be *******s to put blatantly. The "UN" must set up a system to allow for military action to help other defend against these insurgents. lets say a type of peace corps, but if larger military action is needed a coordinated assault lead by a fleet consisting of the best a coalition of alliances has to offer. This new way of dealing with low sec and null sec, I can see a new era of prosperity for these regions, because unlike the world none of us is worried about social issues just isk and billions of it. Because trade and interdependence can provide a new era of prosperity for null sec it can be scene very easily that this system could be very beneficial for many if not most alliances.

Oh look, another one trying to impose his RL profession on EVE not knowing what bullcrap he's writing. Certainly a switch though from all the RL soldiers and accountants.

I blame BOB for 0.0 conflict....

But the fact of the matter is, like the middle east and Somalia, eve online's hatreds now run so deep at the top that this type of warfare will continue. Most likely indefinitely. Also the UN has failed quite miserably in the last 50 years and whats to say that the "Eve Online" UN would do the same? The only time that the UN ever managed to get itself involved in a major conflict was when one of the senior members was boycotting the sessions (ie. Soviet Union, and the Korean War). Such ideas being tried in a gaming world would only find themselves prey to the whims of outside forces, groups of players would reform into smaller alliances bent on the destruction of such an organization.

Needless to say, it wont work.

also this is now a WIDOT thread.

your missing the point of the entire game:
pvp in eve is FUN.

you know those nasty low sec pirate that roaming for easy pickings, they like pvp.

and the alliances fighting each others, they like pvp.

and your suggestion to put some entity with is good at pvp (witch imply they like pvp) to stop pvp??

you know what's gonna happen if there remotely successful ?

they will go board and go looking for pvp in the places there were hired to protect.

eve is not about making isk.
will at lest not for 100% of the players, eve for allot of player (i will dare to say 30% of the players) is all about pvp.

The "New" Eve politics is to form temporary friendships with people to hit targets of opportunity. Certainly almost every spaceholding alliance will have long-standing friends, but temporary working relationships is where all the fun is.

There's no room for grudges or hate or resentment, and the uniblob isn't all that much fun, either.

A world where people get blown up and lose all their space, only to have the conquorers lose it all a few months later is what's healthy for eve.

Love the flame, but first off no....this is just a model to make things run smoother in 0.0 not saying "someone call the whambulance cause meh ships got blowed up". And no i do not think I'm a complete expert of Eve politics. This topic was not meant to a flame spot, but an area to put what you think about the current state of Eve and the politics surrounding it in null sec. If you don't like the topic or have the Capacity to think about it without going nerd rage Ex. Manfred, then just move on.

But I digress, yes i do understand that null sec is based on PvP, it is the best part. I really did not take that into consideration, but now imagine a cluster of 5 alliances in null sec banding together and opening trade and receiving support through these coalitions.

I for one wish him luck inn his endevors. Oh wait what, he want's to be the UN? gl with that, you'll need it. But on a semi serious note, you do understand the game would be boring without fighting right? But let me ask you what qualifies you in EVE to be this peace maker? How long does your history of Eve goes? Mine streches 4 years and even I know there are so many causes for current conflict that goes before that how can you understand the current conflicts?

{EDIT}
Also if you wait 5 months to enter 0.0 your an idiot. Dying in this game is painless more so when you just start. Undock set your destination to the deepest place in 0.0, get blown up. And if it took a game to make you realize the value of friends..... I''m happy for you?

I can appreciate your hard work studying and coming up with this plan of yours. The problem is people don't play Eve for a world like the real world. They play Eve because of the freedoms Eve has in it. Eve is violent, cruel, insane learning curve, with the most diabolical, evil people in it. However, it's also a place to make friends, have fun, and blow stuff up when you have a bad day. And a good one! Eve is the hardest game to play but the most awesome one at the same time. I have met friends and had fun.I quit 2x and keep coming back. I love Eve.

That's RL.

This is Eve

In this game, the economy needs war, or else the (virtually) unlimited supply of materials would oversaturate the market. Would you buy 200 Vagabonds if you were just going to mine ABC ores all day?

The thing is, we already have coalitions out in nullsec for political purposes. Just look at the Russian blob in the Drone regions or the NC. Coalitions form as they are needed in nullsec. As far as the whole trade issue goes, as long as every resource you need for production is available to anyone, there is little to no need to trade. ISK magically is generated by blowing up rats and asteroids/mods are an infinitely renewable resource. Since resources in the EVE world are not finite, there is literally no incentive to trade beyond the opportunity cost of having to acquire them yourself.

If i recall correctly, EVE is a PVP MMO RPG

You can remove only one part of the three (Usually the roleplay part) before
people get bored and go play a different game with some sodding action in it.

Give us Chaos, not Tranquility!
