The ISK has now been returned and diablo7 given a permanent vacation. Anyone thinking of scamming anyone in the character bazaar should think twice.

thats a bit wrong, the guy really did not accept the offer. i've seen many many sale thread where people would just retract the auction or sell at will without any explanation and i think thats fair. The principle is "This is my asset, I can do whatever I want with it". On the other hand if all the rules were followed as described in the official thread, whereby you exchange eve-mails, and put confirmations in forum thread, then it becomes binding conditional on seller not changing his mind. It would be a bannable offence to take money if all rules followed and not transfer the character.

The only thing we are missing here is that, if those guys exchanged eve-mails, then it could be a bannable offece, but from what I can see no eve-mails exchanged.

With all due respect Gauss, a buyout is the same as it is in real life ... Once it has been met, that is it, it is no longer your property. If he wanted a higher price, he should have set a higher buyout limit and not tried to keep the Isk afterwards. So either way he was in the wrong!

Thats madness, you should always confirm with the player selling 1st. I agreethe characters your property till you make an agreement with the player

"Agreements on the forums or in game, or winning an auction does not guarantee a character will be transferred to you. The seller may choose to renege on a deal at any time, prior to the transaction being completed" So something else must have gone on we havnt seen
