Earlier this year, AAA and their friends pounded CVA into oblivion and took Providence. There was much talk about how CVA were docking up and running scared. AAA got to beat their chests and play PvP kings for a couple weeks/months.

Now the tables are turned, and everyone's ganged up on them. They seem to have folded like a cheap suit. Is this a "karma's a *****" moment for AAA?

Why do members of large coalitions (or at least, were part of one) that took part in mass stomping of smaller alliances than theirs with multiple allies suddenly play the 'we were blobbed card'?

I checked out the old killboards a little closer, to see what was up.

So it looks to me like the following corps have joined this party...

The Initiative. (and friends)
Circle-of-Two
IT Alliance
Pandemic Legion
White Noise.
Brick Squad

Is this a coalition or an alliance of opportunity?

INIT & friends are blue to IT.
PL shots IT, Co2 and Bricks, but is blue with WN.
Bricks shot IT etc.

No - it isnt a coalition.

It IS hilarious to see our blues in the system shooting each other after aaa's fleet goes down.

So it is like "an enemy of my enemy is my friend" kinda deal, at least while there are AAA in system. Kinda what I figured.

What or who started this recent AAA ownage party, anyways? I like to imagine IT had a secret conference to organize the participants, including free cookies and illustrative charts with LOL cats on them.

Actually, AAA is one of the best PvP alliances, if you go by statistics. (I know, they lie, but still, what else ya got?) For instance, they are the #1 PvP corporation on the battleclinic killboards, which is the most popular one. Overall, they have around a 4 to 1 kill ratio.

That's why I'm kind of surprised. I would have thought they could get an anti-sov team together and hold some of these systems that have been going down. But maybe it is all part of a grand consolidation plan or something where all AAA will end up in one station in one system to live happily ever after (no PL allowed!).

It isn't quite a conversation with myself. I haven't responded to my own questions. I'm just putting stuff out there for others to comment. And a lot of people have. I'm learning. ugh

Started when Init. and PL temp blued to kill some -A- supercarriers.

Then Init. got word of -A- planning to invade our space because their membership was getting bored. We decided to strike preemptively and started refing CSAA towers with PL who were under contract from someone in Providence.

Then, Blaster Worm made his brilliant post on COAD which ****ed of IT who decided to come down and have a piece of the -A- pie.

CO2 and DT jumped in looking to expand into the vacuum of -A- space.

Pretty much how it went down.

It only took 30-some posts before I found the answer I was looking for. Twisted Evil

So you all going to crush AAA into oblivion or will you let them keep a system or two?

Looking at the automatic sov map today, I saw 10 more AAA and AAA Citizens systems going down. Membership of AAA is declining and is around 1000 now. This is mighty entertaining.

Any good fights or has it been mostly a steamrolling operation?

Dotlan showns them as still having 1778 members (155 more than INIT.!)

We've heard rumours of them fighting a bit in Impass, but there has been no attempt to contest the remaining Catch stations other than setting inconvenient reinforce timers. We see a few fast roaming gangs of no great size, but no serious fleets. CO2, DT and all are all focused on Impass and Feythabolis, nowhere near Catch. We haven't fleeted with them lately - they're doing their thing, we're doing ours. I think PL have gone elsewhere, not 100% sure.

It might just be a case of inconvenient timing. Catch an alliance when they're burned out from other wars. Maybe some key FCs on their holidays.

This is also the time in Eve that is *supposed* to be prime carebearing time in preparation for the traditional Winter offensives launched by the snowed in Europeans who run the most influential alliances. If AAA didn't have enough acorns stashed away AND they're getting attacked in the Fall, then their future in the Winter looks bleak indeed. Certainly the wallet watchers (and every alliance has some) were smart in bailing, if they were counting on semi-safe ratting/mining and weren't benefitting from moon-goo. It only gets worse in the Winter.

"What's happening with -A- and Initiative.?"

Nothing important, they just received what they deserved.
Remember the old story ? 2,5 years ago they betrayed his northern allies and they went to bed with eXBob.

Everyone tell to them, -A- will pay for this an another betrayal and Bob (IT) will backstab them.

They was alone who try to save their ally, when exbob dissapeared and changed to Kenzoku (now knowing them IT) when needed to help.

It is the time for payback from IT because -A- tried to save them, when northern invasion purge south and killed the Kenzoku. Now the time came and IT made a simple clean cut, a backstab, what we told sometimes.

But -A- deserve this. We are not sorry for it. Who betraying their friends, does not deserve something else, than betrayal.

well it didn't happen exactly like that. you are omitting that the 'help' -A- sent to kenny was more of a token force, and had no real chance of success. if i where IT i would want revenge.

No, that's happened exactly.
-A- sent force to save kenny, nothing else.
They was the only one allies, who did.
Nothing matter is, they did success or not. Now showed the ExBob they are just the junk of eve.
But i wrote, -A- deserved their fate, because they were the first who betrayed their old northern and russian friends and went to the hatred Bob bed, who just waited when could backstab them and drop away such as used rag.
