CCP needs to know about the "Scotty Principle"
The defacto gold star standard for delivering products and/or services within a projected timeframe. Derived from the original Star Trek series wherein Lt. Cmdr. Montgomery 'Scotty' Scott consistently made the seemingly impossible happen just in time to save the crew of the Enterprise from disaster. The premise is simple: 1) Caluculate average required time for completion of given task. 2) Depending on importance of task, add 25-50% additional time to original estimate. 3) Report and commit to inflated time estimate with superiors, clients, etc. 4) Under optimal conditions the task is completed closer to the original time estimate vs. the inflated delivery time expected by those waiting.
How do you expect to be considered a Miracle worker if you tell them how long it will really take."
The moral of this story is that, if you lower expectations, it's much easier to please your audience. |

Hehe, the only planning CCP can't keep up with is the deployment time! I discovered some major bugs as a teamleader today in the program my developpers are writing and that is scheduled for release next wednesday! Don't tell me a critical bug like that doesn't show up in testing? I mean that it should be detectable before your release day Still, this is a marvelous game and i'm not complaining cause i'm used to this kind behavior by my favorite gaming company! Keep up the good work, cause bugs are hard to kill |

We discovered a critical issue during the final stages of deployment. We are currently going to call it night, Hopefully we dont have hangover tomorrow, so we can start reviving our dead hamster who runs power to our server room. Thank you for you patience. |

here is a thought CCP:
Instead of your stupid obsession with 'working to time scales' and then ballsing them up (i here cite arbitary twice yearly deployments that dont work properly coz there not ready when deployed) how about:
Stop pushing back the on time in stupid increments like a child saying 'ill just be a minute' and taking 3 hours. We have better things to do with our time than wait another 30 mins, another hour etc etc
Instead, with the exception of VITAL patches (which this one is not- in fact its almost pointless). Take the network down for either 12 or 24 hours and just have done.
Less haste more speed. You guys get the time to do what you need to do (more besides where nessesary), the server is down less often in chunks (of course still keep the daily DT). We all know that as a rule, patch day MEANS patch day rather than: "CCP says it will take 3 hours, so multiply by 2 and add 1 etc etc) or "CCP says it will take five hours and ooops it back on in 2" etc etc Make a patch day mean patch day and there will be much less whining about YOUR constant mess ups with programming etc.
As an additional thought - you cant (nor should you) reinburse people for lost SP training time - the patch was announced end of. (On this occasion even 1 of my toons aint training). On the other hand, a GTC costs about 650 mil isk, so as WE PAY for YOUR constant mess ups, how about you refund the whole eve universe with 10.8mil isk which is the day by day cost of a 60 day GTC.
PLEASE STOP FAILING AT CUSTOMER SERVICE CCP - START LISTENING TO SOME PEOPLE COZ SOMETIMES (JUST SOMETIMES) YOU GUYS REALLY SUCK AT RESPECTING YOUR PLAYER BASE |

They already know about it, and they already "fixed" it. They decided the environmental effect which was being abused was not crucial, and simply removed it, period. Trying to find the EVE-O post where a CCP rep said so... |
