Does anyone know anything about this yet? Questions I have:

Arrow 1) Did they mean to say "Super Carrier".... or is this a new class of ship? Exclamation It's a Super Carrier

Arrow 2) Is this a drop item from fighting with Sansha or is it something you get at an LP store? Exclamation It's a fixed drop rate loot item

Arrow 3) Are we sure we can even fly them, or is this an event-staff ship only? Exclamation We can fly them

Arrow 4) Sanshas only, or will there be Domination, Serp, and Gurristas variants as well? Exclamation Sansha only for this expansion

Arrow 5) (added) If it is a Hive Ship... how does that work, exactly? Exclamation It's not a hive ship

Arrow 6) (added) Is the ship linked on page 4 of this thread a fighter or a new Sansha Frigate? Question It is an old Sansha NPC frig. The Supercarrier is the only known Sansha ship being ADDED to the game at this time... (uncertain - need verification)

My guesses are:

1 - They meant supercarrier (whoops)

2 - You'll probably get the BP the same way you get BPs for the other Sansha vessels; although CCP could surprise people on this!.

3 - If they put the info where they did, we'll be able to fly it.

4 - Sanshas only.

Some guy posted these models of the new sansha ships:

"Mothership"

Sansha Fighter/Bomber

1) I believe they meant mothership. CCP said they wanted a Mothership class, but weren't happy with what are now Supercarriers. They've said Sansha Mothership on more than one occasion now, so I assume it's actually a ~mothership~.

2) BPCs can drop from fighting Incursions.

3) Yes we can fly them.

4) Sanshas only this expansion (at least so far that we've heard of), I expect more to come Soon™.

By far, the most exciting new feature of this expansion is what CCP is calling "incursions" -- invasions into constellations that will require the dedicated efforts of players to repel. These incursions will be led by the zombie-like Sansha and are expected to take a week or more to defeat. What's surprising is that incursions are largely intended to be a cooperative PvE experience in a notoriously PvP game, although competing corps may butt heads while attempting to be heroic. The incursions will happen all over the galaxy and will be clearly marked on the map. At that point, teams of five to 40 can group up and take the fight to the stars. The ultimate goal of incursions is to defeat the mothership at the core, although it's nothing less than suicide to make a beeline for this ship right away. If players don't pick off the outer ring of ships -- and thus weaken the fleet's defenses -- their ships will be weakened if they decide to attack the mothership. If the mothership goes kablooey, then ISK and loyalty points will be had by all, in addition to the brand-new blueprints to said defeated mothership. One nice aspect of incursions is that if you can only participate in part of the fight, you'll still get rewarded once it's finished, even if you're not present. Incursions are somewhat different to the EVE universe than other parts of the game, which is CCP's desire. Hopefully, the incursions will be a great source of repeating content.

So when we're done shooting the last Sansha bad-person after having followed it into lowsec we get to draw straws for the shiny stuff, right.

What does introducing a new ship have to do with lag fests?

I would almost cry with happiness if CCP introduced unique faction models of each carrier/dread...

Also the model for the Sansha Mothership is awfully bumpy...

Good question.

Are these incursions were more prevalent in low sec than anywhere else? Where's that written down? Not that I'm against it, but CCP, here's one way to populate low sec.

Chance of faction capital BPCs = epic draw.

Now all the rich kids from the suburbs are going to roll into our humble lowsec with their big ships and starbucks outlets. Lowsec is about to get gentrified.

Anyone else feel there's going to be a lot of turning on randoms joining a public fleet if the organized groups don't get the BPC for one of these over some lone wolf?

as a Ninja looter of ill repute, I'll certainly be loitering about a mothership battle should a mothership class BPC be a potential drop. I will loose many ships... but I only need get away once. YARRRR!!

If they are releasing a Sansha fighter-bomber with this thing don't you think they meant to say supercarrier instead of mothership? What is the motherships roll? How does it differ from a supercarrier? Is this like those "hive ships" people keep talking about?

If it is anything like the hive ship, it will be a station type deal that your corp mated can dock in and use the market it, and when you are offline and it gets attacked, a uber-swarm of fighter bombers is deployed to defend. Nautrally you would park in next to a pos and it would reinforce sorta like a pos. We shall see though.

Also im guessing that this will be mainly the "more challenging stuff" for the carebears, another high sec buff.

The impresion I got a while back was that motherships are bascialy used to hotdrop supercarriers into battle.

as for what that realy is, I guess we will have to wait for a blog to clear things up

I think it was a talky bit of a particular dev during the tourney. If I remember correctly he said something about it starting in hisec and then move to lowsec for the final.

u stoopid?

It's meant to be group PVE, which is something Eve is particularly lacking in. You can take as many people or as few people as you want, I'm sure, but you need a team to do it.

Do you suppose, given that a mothership is a new class, and that it can hot drop supercaps, that these things are as big or bigger than titans? Will it cost like 80 bil to build one?
