recently i bought a plantronics .Audio 645 headset.
while the headset itself (behind the head variety) was unbearable uncomfortable to wear, the USB plug works with any headset without the need to install any driver.

so atm i'm using it with a cheap but extremely light and comfortable to wear logitech one.

You can use any iPhone earphones with recent macs, the mic will work too. (And you can use the buttons on the remote to control iTunes).

No sheet? That's cool.

I'm using a Platonic wireless headset. They were pricey, but they work flawlessly with no driver installation. Plug the transmitter into a USB port, turn on the phones and go. Nice that one can also get up from the computer and go into another room and still keep tabs on EVE. Nice for those instances where you've got to auto-bio.

I just use my iPhone headphones and the built in mic on my iMac. Works perfectly for me. No reason to spend money on a headset when your Mac should have everything you need. If you don't have Apple headphones, any set of headphones should work.

I'm using a Plantronics .Audio 995H. Its wireless and it works well and there was no fuss getting it up and running.

Some headsets actually have problems after a certain period of time connected to a TS server, forcing you to quit the app and relaunch (relogging won't work). This has something to do with the USB audio adaptor and OS X as I've read that this was a documented and known problem.

With the Plantronics .Audio 995H, those problems went away.

I previously used a wired Plantronics headset but had to give it up as the USB audio adaptor got so hot that it was transferring lots of heat through the audio cable, leading to the wires burning through the insulation at various points.

Anyway, I love the wireless headset as it gives me a lot more freedom of movement and I don't have to tangle with some audio cable running over my keyboard.

Gee, you guys are spending way too much money on headsets...What I'm using, which works perfectly well, is the USB headset from my PS2 SOCOM game.
