Low sec or 0.0 pilots are the same ******s as high sec ones, on average. If anything you tend to find more experience/actual knowledge in low sec. Most 0.0 players are just as clueless as people who only run missions on Motsu.
I have encountered many a fine pilot in low sec, this is true. Although a great deal of a pilots success depends on them being well versed in the tactics that work in their particular environment. I've seen many a good null sec combat pilot make mistakes that are considered stupid in a low sec environment and die horribly. I've seen many a outstanding low sec combat pilot attempt a foray into 0.0 only to die in a fire to the most basic of 0.0 strategies. Interestingly enough, I have seen plenty of high sec pilots that only make occasional forays into null/low sec space survive quite nicely. Not because they killed their opponents, but because they went into those situations with the sole intention of evading all combat... and sticking to tactics and fits that complimented that. |

Hydro you might want to consider NOT going into lowsec until you don't fail as much. Just a suggestion... |

Undoubtely there are some experienced / honorable PvPers in EVE. But the majority are pretty scared if not at the much better end.
While you got the kill (but not the pod) of a ship and boast on the KB forums just think that you threw 3+ T2/3 ships against often a single ship that is engaged with some other stuff. Same with gate camps...not much to boast about killing some BC with a small / medium gang of ships ranging T1 to T3 - 100m maximum vs several billions worth in ships and fittings.
Most pirates and "gankers" in EVE are like wannabe bullies out of the pod - they come when in numbers and I'm barefoot but don't even get close if I have my steel toes still on after work... |

Quoting for hilariousness, and not altering! OP, most (if not all) pirates don't care what you think in regards to their kills... we want the tears, the loot, and the lulz. Also, pirates don't "fight fair"... why should we? It's just like with RL... if I get in a fight, I'll pull every dirty trick in the book (even though I've years of formal martial arts experience and training) to win. And that's what it boils down to: winning. |

I''ll solo you, your corp, your whole alliance and any blues you might have. AT THE SAME TIME.
Most Pirates are just looking for a fight. Smack is just our way of getting the little high sec monkeys to fight us. If you dont smack, and dont provoke them, they sit on the high sec gate twiddling thier thumbs waiting for somebody to agress them. (which they wont, mostly, due to sentries).
And tbh, i've found that most of the time, its the non-blinky PvPers that talk to most **** and never back it up. |

A blatant lie! Here's the thing: you are some miner who decided to be ultrahardcore and go to lowsec (mighty big balls you have), decide that you are too hardcore to fight off some pirates (which might not even be pirates but just some random guys hanging in lowsec), then come here to write a thread about your grand non-adventure because, god damn, you don't have anything better to do anyways. And now I forgot what my point was, but you also made this smiley, which always ticks me off. |

Pirates just want to kill things. It is pretty simple. PvP is about blowing the other guy(s) up. If there are 5 of us and 1 of you, that's just too bad for you. If there are 5 of you and only me, I'm probably not going to stick around for the kind of fun you 5 are envisioning. If someone wants to 1v1 one of us, we'll honor it. If someone wants to pay a ransom to save their precious implants, we'll honor it (if we decide to give the option). It might be sad that our roaming gang might happen upon you, little lonely soldier, and you get ganked. I'm not too concerned with that moral outlook, I just like to watch ships explode. Besides, my moral compass is pointed in the direction of "If you willingly come to low/null/wh space, you are ok with the risk of dying in a hot ball of plasma and guts". Don't want to get shot? Don't leave high sec (you can get shot there though, be careful!) Don't want to get ganked by bigger gang? Bring bigger gang than us/them. I will wholeheartedly agree that the best, most furious, flood-inducing tears, as well as some of the raunchiest smack/hate has come from non-blinky targets. Blinkies...well, we know what lowsec and such is about, and it is about killing or dying. For some odd reason, blinkies tend to not get too concerned when they are the 1, and we are the 5. They go *poof* (or *explode-y*), get their pod out or wake up in a clone vat, fit up another ship, and go back out and do it all again (and maybe they do the *poofing* to someone else instead of it being them). Don't cry or rage in lowsec when you get killed. It only fills our capacitors with pure energy. |

EVE is about getting advantage on your opponent Op.Sometimes it happens because you manage to kill the bait ship they give you before the rest of gang arrives, sometimes because you jumped without scout to a well planned camp and ofc a few times because you jumped a 7 BIL officer fitted BS "risking" all those ISk while you "happened" to have a couple of alt scouts in falcons around. EVE doesnt require in 99% of the time in PVP "skilled" players. It requires most of the time Knowing something the others dont. |

it really doesn't require personal pvp skills. knowing how to work in a group however, that goes miles. |

"Formula One drivers are only as fast as they are because they're in a car. Take the car away and they're not as fast." You are stating the obvious in a multiplayer game. If you know you will lose, well, don't try and roam somewhere else. If you still want them dead bring friends. |

Originally by: Hydroz0rz 2. My findings were pretty hilarious.
You looked at one guy and saw he had some frigate kills with a bigger ship. So this shows to you that all pirates and mercs cannot fight without a bunch of backup. I also did a study with a sample set of 1 and found that the laserboat Imicus is the best ship ever. There is even video proof, just go watch one of Garmon's videos. I also did another study and saw a post by a guy, he was a troll. It may have been this thread I was studying, dunno. |
