I got to see how people use Cap Boosters, and I was thinking of using a setup similar to this, but that might be overkill for boosters. My skills aren't quite high enough to fit any weapon mod to the third rig, so I have no idea what to toss in there either. I saw a earlier Abaddon with a 'sort of' similar set up as this, but with Cap Boosters, I saw no need for cap rechargers.

Don't have a lot of cargo space for the boosters I guess. Would something like this fly alright?

For missions, tachyon beams are way over-ranged and have extremely poor tracking against cruisers. You would be far better served by megapulse. Works best with scorch but in the meantime, spring for navy microwave crystals to get the range. Get a nanopump or CCC rig for the third slot to help keep the tank running and focus on getting T2 lasers.

Also, drop at least one booster and at the least get a tracking computer. Fourth heatsink is also doing very little. Drop it for another hardener, EANM or capacitor module. PDS wouldn't hurt either.

It isn't hard to make a cap stable, 3 heatsink megapulse Abaddon that can rep in missions as well as a raven. There are one or two missions out there where a rat will hang out at more than 100km but for the most part 60km is more than enough.

This worked very well for me.

It's cap stable at maxed energy skills unless you're using Multifrequency, but still lasts very long with them.

As long as you know how to reduce tracking issues by moving your ship you won't have much issues with that too.

By the time I set up this ship Meta 4 Megabeams were laughworthy cheap and should still be far cheaper than Meta 4 Tachyons.

I've done Tachyon Abaddon before. Cruisers that orbit around 30km I have no problem tracking (especially with tracking computer, and tracking script). Normally as well with Tachyon most mission, most ships are dead before anything else happens with Tachyons. Tracking has never really been a issue when I used them.

Drop the booster and get a second tracking computer? I have one already in the set up. Though they are cap Boosters, EFT says this is a Cap Stable fit. I don't think it accounts for reloading the boosters, but you can pop boosters like pills this way alternating between them. I have no idea why I would need a PDS. I have enough powergrid at the moment, and I'm not relying on cap recharge.

Fourth heat sink can totally be changed for something else, but it's just fun to add MORE damage. There isn't really anything else you can add that would do that though. SO even a tiny bit of damage would be nice even if it's not doing much. Maybe tracking enhancer instead.

Reason I was looking at boosters instead of rechargers is that you end up just throwing so many slots away to capacitor recharge. MY previous one was mostly cap stable with 2 heat sinks, and 1 repper, and 2 hardeners.

Fourth heat sink can totally be changed for something else, but it's just fun to add MORE damage.

Cap boosters are on mission ships for those emergency situations when you have to run tank more than what's normally needed. It eats some boosters now and then, but there are still cap modules to some degree to give it some regen.

The original fit, however, can't even shoot without using boosters. And that's where it goes totally wrong. You'll eat way more boosters than what's healthy, and have to constantly resupply them from somewhere. And that costs money.

And for the previous fit in this thread, I'd also recommend megabeams since they allow you to swap the ACR rigs for something actually useful without lowering that much DPS.

But well, point is that you need to have enough regen in your setup to be stable with guns / hardeners / TC's / whatever else you might need, but without repper or you end up using too much boosters to keep the nessecities running.

A few things strike me as a bit odd, one is that you need 3x800 boosters to stay cap stable, this really shouldn't be necessary one or two should suffice and if they don't perhaps they're not the way to go. Another is that for all the range you have you have no way to maintain it, trading a cap booster or the tracking computer for an afterburner might allow you to keep some of the range you have with tachs, potentially afterward trading in your 4th heat sink for a tracking enhancer.
