ARRRRR!!! BUMPAGE!!!! YAHARRRR!!!!

I should point out that this former carebear was completely unaware that there were even multiple dimensions of PVP. Careers within a career!!

That being said, EP has gathered an impressive, talented, and patient group of people to learn from, and within 2 weeks of joining PWNED FACTOR I am a hooked PVPer. Give it a try if you want the exciting side of Eve.

Hey EP, I'm very interested in joining up. Is there a way we could talk in messages (private messages) on the forums. I don't have access to EVE and won't for another couple weeks because I'm currently away doing some training. A bit about myself I tried mission running & grew tired & bored of it quick. PVP is the road I want to travel, and run :) I have a few solo kills under my belt but I know there's a huge huge amount of knowledge about pvp'n and your Corp looks like the real deal.

You can try googling "EVE Gate"

It is a new website that allows us to EVE mail each other in game, without having to be logged on. If you can post here I am pretty sure you can send me an EVE mail in game through the EVE Gate website. If you can, I can send you EVE Mails back using the same method [No game Log In Needed]

If not, feel free to ask any questions you want here. I will answer what I can, and it gives the thread free bumps to the top so its all good Cool

I found eve gate but it's jacked up or something (doing this from an iphone) so for the time being I'll ask my questions here.

The only mmo I've played is WoW & I played it for 3 years on and off. I did the grinding, leveling, and finally got into pvp. It was fun, but in the end it didn't fit with the way I felt pvp should be. It should be all or nothing, it should involve risk which includes gear, weapons, items whatever you're carrying and gold. I started looking for other mom's to play and that's when I found eve. I went through a few trial accounts learning mostly the pve side of the game. In the end I knew what I wanted to do so I made a new characterughugh soley for the purpose of fighting other players & just slaying bodies. My first few ventures out were filled with losses but after each engagement I learned what I did wrong, what I did right, and what I could do next time that would bring me my first kill. More losses followed but each one I did more damage & lasted longer in the fight until I finally got my first victory. The one thing that made an impression on me & motivated me to keep going n trying was that adrenaline rush in every single fight. No game online or offline has ever done that to me & it was crazy lol. After that first kill I racked up a few more solo kills, my best one being an interdictor (can't remember the exact ship type but it was something along those lines). I did all that in a Rifter. Right then and there I knew EVE was the game for me and that pvp is what I want to do.

With that said, I want to further my training and learn more so I can progress as a fighter. In your OP it said you need a BC t2 fits to get started, I would like to know if you make exceptions? I can start training for it, the problem for me is raising the funds to purchase a BC AND fit it with t2 equipment. I haven't found a way to bring in a steady source of income. Can you still train/coach me if a rifter is all I can afford and have the most experience flying with?

Yes we make exceptions

Some of my best kills were in a Rifter actually. I have not flown them in a while, but when I first started PVP’ing Rifters were all I ever flew.

Here are some links from a VERY old killboard:

Solo'd Navy Slicer In Rifter
Solo'd Hulk In Rifter
[Almost] Solo'd Caldari Navy Raven In Rifter

^^^ Although, in the end, I couldn’t break his capacitor regeneration like I hoped, I still did 77,000 damage over a period of 20 minutes and managed to get him into armor. I ended up tricking him into aggressing another pilot's tech I cruiser, who later came back in an Armageddon to polish him off \0/ My little Rifter still did 27,000 more damage then his Battleship did though Twisted Evil

We will show you how to make ISK and not be a poor PVP'er, that's the easy part. In the meantime you can function as a scout for our PVP gangs. All you need is a tech I fitted Rifter and your set for scouting duty [TBH Even a shuttle would do] Anyone with a measure of intelligence can get good at PVP in EVE Online.

The Benifit of PWNED Factor is this: you can skip years of trial and error and skip strait to "What Actually Works Best"

Our Instructors have years of combined experience PVP'ing, and we are willing to pass on our knowledge to pilots like you. So shoot me PM as soon as your able to log on, and/or join our public channel. If you have any more questions feel free to ask them here. Cool

I've flown as a scout/tackler before so that's good with me! A second issue, is that I'm in the military as an infantryman. When we're not in the field training I'm able to play an hour or two a night, a bit more on the weekends. Will that be a problem?

That's fine, we have other soldiers in our corp as well. RL > EVE and all that.

Regarding activity level, we just want people who are willing to learn and work as a team when they are actually logged on and sitting in front of their keyboard. How often you log on is not nearly as important as what you do when you are in game. Wink

Fixed. It's always good to see nerds flexing their imaginary Epeen by pointing out the flaws in Copy/Pasting from a Microsoft Word Document with automatic spell checker. Don't believe what others tell you, it does actually make you look really cool in the eyes of your peers.

As I'm sure can be seen from all the other comments, PWNED Factor looks like a fantastic corporation.

Unfortunately, I had an experience with PWNED Factor that is quite contradictory to the ones described in the other comments.

I spent almost 3 weeks in PWNED Factor. Before joining, I knew the very, very basics of PVP--don't autopilot through lowsec, and make sure you have ammo just about sums up my knowledge.
In the three weeks that I was there, I've learned some basics about PVP armor tanking, found a few fits, and learned some very, very basic FC skills.
That's all. In three whole weeks.
Nearly three weeks of time, and with the exception of a few ship fits, almost all the knowledge I have gained has been through the forums and personal research. I've gained next to no PVP experience--in the times where I was able to get into a fleet, we spent hours warping and jumping from system to system, finding no one, killing no one (with the exception of a single Battleship/cruiser duo).
The rest of the time, there was either no fleet, or those in the fleet completely ignored my requests to get in on the action.
Speaking of being ignored--wow, did I ever get shoved to the side. Though I asked countless questions (What are fleet bonuses? How are they applied? What's the point of using frigates at all? etc., etc.) very few of them were answered, and I wound up spending most of my time on forums, looking for answers myself.
I can do that very well without being part of a corp, thank you.
Once, someone considered talking to me about my cruiser's tank, but they never got around to it.
PWNED seems to have developed an intolerance for people with questions.

Whoop-dee-do.

Extreme boredom set in a week ago, which isthe time I began to have my doubts about the benefits of PWNED. Just about half an hour ago I finally broke down and decided it was necessary to quit corp.
The way I figure, I can learn more in the militia. Even though it's fairly inactive right now, anything is better than the dead boredom I've encountered here in PWNED.

So, I suppose I'll close with:
Bump for a corp which has some competent PVPers, but needs to get its act together really, really badly.

Today We Did This Frigate Roam

We scored a couple of kills, we took a couple of losses and nailed a Fleet Stabber. While this was going on where were you? Why didn't you join? Why have you not fleeted up more then a small handful of occasions in the past? We have a teamspeak 3 server, but I don't recall you and I having a conversation there? Why were you never on it chatting with the other corp mates? ugh

If most other people are very happy and you are not, it is because they took the time to interact more, and more often, then you did. Wink We don't hold hands and pass out cookies, plenty of people take the initiative and go solo PVP on their own or with a teammate. THOSE are the kind of people we want to keep, the rest can go happily on their way.

P.S.

I'm sure you will find the Faction Warfare environment friendly and informative [Insert Sarcasm] Good luck with that Laughing

EDIT:

If this doesn't work the first time ---->> X Fleet (Inert Ship Type)

Step 1.) Try X'ing again
Step 2.) Check Fleet Finder
Step 3.) Get on Teamspeak [We are having fun roaming and not paying attention to channel]

People who lack enough initiative to perform these 3 basic steps need not apply

The majority is always asking questions, participating in Ops or training on Sisi.
Where were you?

"PWNED seems to have developed an intolerance for people with questions."

That I find offensive.
Being one of the trainers for PWNED i'm pretty much constantly busy answering questions and/or training new guys on Sisi.
The others do the same thing.

You leave me under the impression that you simply lack the ability to present minimal effort to be trained and/or heared.

I hope you find your place, where ever it may be.

SISI just mirrored, and so we spent Saturday doing some hard core training there. For those people who say that "The Test Server Is Not A Realistic Environment To PVP In" try explaining that to our new Fleet commanders in training Wink

Entering a PVP beacon filled with hostiles and calling targets over and over again is the ONLY way to grow new and capable FC's in a reasonable amount of time [Not To Mention Skillful Guardian Pilots]

Our PVP instructors are stepping aside and our Low Sec roams are starting to be successfully lead by pilots with NO Prior PVP Experience. I **** you not, our training techniques are time tested and they work.

We are still recruiting... so what are you waiting for? YARRRR!!

Obviously every corp is going to work for some players and not for others. I spent seven months in E-UNI and learned a lot about the basics of Eve. When I was ready to PvP (with 16 mil SP), I spent several months chatting with CEOs and former UNI members to get a sense of what PvP corp might work for me. I stumbled upon PwnedFactor by chance and thought I would give Eternum a try.

Best decision I have made in Eve. In one month, I've learned more as a member of PwnedFactor than in the 11 mos previously. I have become a competent small gang PvPer, on my way to becoming an excellent solo and small gang PvPer. I have been well trained to FC, fly logistics, and prepared for action in 0.0. And this is from someone who is only on 10 hrs/wk at most. That's all happened while I still have time to mission to generate ISK, something upon which many other PvP corps frown.

Plus, unlike some other PvP training corps, our folks are truly friendly, supremely helpful, have no attitudes, and great senses of humor. I've been so impressed that I have volunteered to train new members to fly BCs effectively and conduct initial recruiting interviews. Take it from someone who doesn't tolerate bull**** or letting club members be disrespectful of each other, this is a great place to learn whether you just want PvP basics or you want to become a master.

(sarcastic response to my legitimate complaint)

I've tried all three of those steps that you mentioned, with:
1. Results not dissimilar to my first attempts to x up
2. Fleets never on fleet finder
3. Checking TS3, (which usually had no more than 6 people on it), when I talked, there was no response--I checked the volume (both TS3's and my own computer), and checked that my mike wasn't muted, but there was no reason I could see for the thing to not work.
Saying things like, "what's up everyone," or "how is everything," elicited no response.ugh

As for not having patience, I worked through an entire week of doing very little within your corporation before I realized it was time to quit. I pay for this game; I expect to have fun playing it.Rolling Eyes

Where was I on your frig roam? Well, considering I mailed you last week saying I wouldn't be in town on Thursday through Sunday, and I wasn't in your corporation, that should give you a good idea of "where I was." Laughing

I talked about my initiative in my reply to Eternum. It yielded no results.

"Being one of the trainers for PWNED i'm pretty much constantly busy answering questions and/or training new guys on Sisi.
The others do the same thing."

Well, I'm glad you and "the others" do, however, it seems I've had the incredible bad luck to not ever be on at the same time as you. I can't count how many questions I've asked--it got to the point where typing in questions like "How is everyone?" or a non-questions like "o/" was completely ignored by those online.
How coincidental.

Also, I'm not sure how you only saw me twice, since I logged on for at least two hours every day.

As for SiSi, my computer won't run it. I was told this was perfectly fine, and that I would be able to learn just as well as the others.
Perhaps I was told wrong?
