You seem to be clouding the issue with your use or 'ireland'. The provissional IRA exclusively bombed in the UK iirc.

yea ok, i didn't want to change my previous comment to northern ireland, so thats why i wrote
Quote:
mainly operated in ireland(read as northern ireland)

so when i wrote ireland, i actually meant northern ireland

these are points that i wouldn't expect people to really make that much of bother over. stop being so pedantic and chill out. its irrelevant, so stop trying to be smart arses about it.

why should i give money to pakistan

The country has managed to develop nuclear weapons and build them for gods sake

If they had used that those resources and money to develop better infrastructure for their civilians this would not had happened , not this scale anyway

second point would they do the same for us?? probably not they probably go cheering in the streetsshouting that allah is punishing the infidels

"On September 4 Pakistan offered to send a team of doctors and paramedics to support the relief agencies. Pakistan also pledged $1 million through the Red Cross."

This was for New Orleans.

Pouring aid on a failed state, which possesses nuclear weapons, whose intelligence service has been implicated in a littany of terrorist acts and has virtually zero control over most of its territory, just to name a few is just stupid.

Yeah, let the failed state collapse and see who gets hold of these nukes ...

That is why most humanitarian services should be provided by non-profit aid agencies. They typically will be able to work around the bureaucracy and get the aid where the people need it. Groups like Doctors without Boarders, that SoSensational pointed out, get a hell of a lot more done then most of the aid that gets sent in through federal/international agencies.

However true your statement is, we can not let complacency be the lead horse.

Is this the reason why nations generally are not donating money to flooding victims there?

TBH theres a posibillity of it yes. I wont say everything I have heard over beers in pubs etc, but it seems like people are carefull with what they say in public when sober (like, the government give cash so I dont have to. I cant afford to atm. etc.) and when drunk you hear other reasons like they burned my flag, they all hates us and all our values, they send terrorists to the west on murder etc. So Why should I give them my money, just so they the day after can suicidekill someone? True or not. Thats what many thinks when they can speak freely without being labelled as racists all the time.

Personally I gave money to the red cross, but I have to admit it took me longer time before I decided to give money than it took me during other disasters...

America dropped lots of money on Haiti for one reason and one reason only:

To keep them from coming to America.

Honestly, I worked with lots of Haitians in Florida and find them to be better people than most Americans but that's besides the point.

Don't let anyone think that the money dropped on Haiti was for good will..

As for Pakistan, the US is murdering people there, and nobody in the US gives a rat's little gray butt. So why care about them being flooded?

If I was Karma I would see the world as a target rich environment.
