The Jin-Mei National Council. The newest hate group to crop up in New Eden. Sought to save my people from the supposed dark claws of the all consuming, evil, overwhelming Federation.

Now if only an entity like that existed, that would be nice for them?

It is my duty, as a true blood leader of my nation, to set the story straight so that others are not poisoned by the taint on my caste. We have no need for war with the Gallente to maintain out ways. We already have our ways - our vast Estates and proud cultural heritage still stand strong and proud.

Time changes all things. Perhaps it is that which has altered our ways ever so slightly, yet at the core, we are still the proud people of the homesystem that have endured for centuries both alone, and in our partnership with our equals within the Federation.

The views of our supposed 'single voice', Alba Miri, seem as foreign as the doctorates in which she supposedly been granted. Whilst our ways may not be known by the other races of this cluster, we are still very well acquainted with that which is our own.

Ignore! That is what I say! Jin-Mei, proud warriors of Lirsautton, let this be known! Your leadership does not approve, this council is to stand as the voice of one dissident and one dissident only. The Estate will oppose all hostile measures against the Federal partnership, for an attack on them is an attack on the sovereignty of the Jin-Mei.

We will stand proud, as the people we are. We will not suffer the scorn of the cluster for the mistakes of this one fool.

Join the Estate if you wish to see how your people really live, and together we will build a safe environment for our cultural heritage to prosper. We are born proud, not of hate.

Don't be tricked.

Jianni Sotaku,
Matriarch of the Sotaku Estate

Mixed Metaphor stands alongside the Sotaku Estate and its efforts both to preserve the cultural heritage of the proud Jin-Mei people and to defend the relationship between the Federation and its Jin-Mei membership. Let it be known we will consider any attack upon the Sotaku Estate an attack upon ourselves.

...Damnit they do, don't they?

Still though, it would be nice if there were any sane Jin-Mei secessionist movements. I mean if anyone's culture is so out-of-place within the Federation it would be them.

Ms. Sotaku speaks correctly. There are no instances in which the Jin-Mei have been treated negatively, in an overall sense. I hope there can be some diplomatic agreement between Ms. Miri and the Jin-Mei leadership; promoting hostilities does not unite the peoples of the Federation together.

Quote:
§1 The JNC is the sole legitimate representative of the Jin Mei people.

§2 Its duty proper is a.) to restore the sovereignty of the Jin Mei within the boundaries that existed prior to the time of the occupation as an integral and independent regional unit; b.) to restore the Jin Mei’s religious, social and political system and to protect it from foreign influence.

§3 All Jin Mei are natural members of the JNC, performing their duty to liberate their world in accordance with their abilities, qualifications and caste.

§4 The JNC shall cooperate with other races; and will adopt a hostile policy towards enemies of the Jin Mei in light of the requirements of the battle of liberation; and on this basis does interfere in the internal affairs of any hostile state.

§5 The JNC believes in the principles of justice, freedom, sovereignty, self-determination, human dignity, and the right of peoples to exercise them.

§6 Armed struggle is the only way to liberate our home world from the Federation. It is the JNC’s overall strategy, not merely a tactical phase. The JNC asserts its absolute determination and firm resolution to continue its armed struggle and to work for an armed popular revolution for the liberation of our world and our return to it.

§7 The legend of voluntarily joining the Federation is deemed null and void.

§8 For the time being the JNC takes residence in exile and shall not return to our world until its liberation is completed.

1) Wrong. The JNC supports only a minority of the Jin-Mei, and is attempting to force others into servitude with a fear campaign.

2) The Jin-Mei now have more in their domains then they ever did before the Gallentean contact. Our capabilities and resources have been greatly expanded by our cooperation with our Federal partners. The second point is admirable, but to insight a fight against a stronger enemy for its stake is stupidity, for if we lose, then we lose everything, and it will be all your fault.

3) No. No. No. All Jin-Mei are attached to their respective enclaves. I know of no specific enclave that currently supports this measure. Although there are probably one or two hell raisers that haven't been seen on my radar.

4) Which explains why you live in Caldari space. Because that's good for the Jin-Mei. Sure, the Caldari are admirable - but then again, there is also an Achuran separatist movement.

5) In that case, the Jin-Mei have made their sovereignty clear by siding with the Federation of their own free will.

6) Armed Struggle is more likely to have us destroyed. Thank god you aren't the popular one.

7) Ok. But the fact that this is what happened can remain, right?

8) When was the last time you've visited the homesystem? Years, decades? Centuries? Your attitudes make it that hard...

Well, just a brief overview of some of the points that make up the core of this council. I advise all Jin-Mei, and all others to approach any relations with this group with extreme caution. All they seem to want is to hurt and to force the hand of both the federation and that of it's own people.

Dear Ms. Sotaku,

you are a wonderful woman and I respect you and the way you represent our people. But I think you got some things about the Jin-Mei National Council quite wrong. Please allow me to explain point by point:

1) Your thoughts are contaminated with federal logic. But even in this case they would not be coherent—or did “Senator” Faron Shu get 100% of our votes? The Jin-Mei National Council is the real representative of our nation for it knows no interest in things foreign to us. You yourself describe the Sotaku Estate as “the true representation of the Jin-Mei culture”. Contrary to you I don’t fly around with the Gallente militia and kill people in a conflict that isn’t mine.

2) a.) Would you mind reading my remarks on FedMart’s interference with our socio-economical system? b.) I find your lack of initiative most exciting.

3) Cf. 1)

4) The Caldari are a great people. They suffered a lot from the Federation. As do we. Having sympathy with them is the most logical course of action.

5) Cf. 7)

6) Let me quote from your little presentation:

Originally by: Jianni Sotaku
The Estate has recognised the threats that come at it from every angle, and in light of that - we are responding. As of now, the Estate is issuing a call-to-arms to every capsuleer wishing to support not only our cause - but for the cultural freedoms of every nation in this cluster. We must be ready, and we need your help.

I wouldn’t be surprised if you throw the first stone. The JNC will never attack a fellow Jin-Mei first. But as you yourself said: There are threats. And the JNC has pointed out on various occasion that the biggest threat to our people is imperialism.

7) The so called fact is nothing but a simple lie. Ask a Caldari about the Cultural Deliverance Society. You’ll get the answers you need.

8) That’s a rather strange accusation from a “Matriarch-in-Exile”. It was yesterday that I burned incense in Lirsautton and it saddens me that the hostilities against the JNC grow every day. It is with good reason that we prepare ourselves.

Ms. Sotaku, it would be wonderful if you could stop your false accusations and allegations. I am sure you don’t mean to do any harm. It would be wonderful if we could work together. Our people needs us and I have responded to this call. Will you?

Two groups on opposite ends of a political issue.

One is tied heavily with the Federation, one has a problem with remaining within the Federation. Both are strong proponents of their culture and history.

Group A states they are willing to take up arms to defend the Federation.
Group B states they are willing to take up arms against the Federation.

History would indicate that Group B will proabably get quietly squashed in some manner and Group A will reap the benefits.

This does not invalidate Group B's concerns and it could lead (33:1) to Group B becoming martyrs to a larger insurrection.

Probably, Sotaku will enjoy the benefits of this. But care should be taken not to ignore that there are people in Jin-Mei who are opposed to living under the Federation. If you do, you'll see a dozen more groups like the JNC pop up in the near future.

Most do give them enough attention than it deserves, because the first aim of such self-proclaimed organization is that they want to be heard, thus leveraging support from other like-minded fanatics.

The sad thing about a lie is no matter how many times you tell it, it never becomes true. The JNC can continue to tell this one as much as it likes, and it will never be true. The historical records are there.
