Edit - so they moved it in the time it took me to reply.

Ever heared of 'Infinity - quest for earth'? Has breathtaking optics... although uncommercial and still in pre alpha its something to dream about - when it actually does make it to a complete game some day. That may quite possible be never the case though. Just google it for some tech demo videos. By the way - EVE Developers, Admins, GMs... whoever is responsible - please consider hiring this guy to your team and add some of his ideas to EVE. This would make a much more beatiful and detailed EVE universe that i'd love to see in the future. Greets, Zha |

I hear this game will have harsh consequences for committing piracy. So if CCP were to hire him C&P would flood and consequently drown in its own tears. |

I just started playing Homeworld again after I don't know how many years. And I'm trying to pick X3: Terran Conflict again. To me, it feels so similar to EVE, aside from the controls, that I should just play EVE. I guess that's why I never sit down to play it extensively. Hopefully that changes, it's a quality game. |

Wash your mouth out !!! Infinity has the potential to **** all over eve from a great height and Flavien working for CCP would be a travesty tbh as, to be frank, they really don't deserve his talent. |

Vapourware that will never turn into anything. As for the OP there just isnt anything out there to replace EVE now and as far as I know nothing with a release date anytime soon has a chance to do so. Perhaps in a couple of years if the mmo industry gets over their wow fapping. |

Listen fellas, if you get realistic, creating a full blown mmo game is just beyond the manpower that currently is available to the developing comunity of 'Infinity'... it would take 10 years, probably much more. I am a software engineer myself - just read the developer and artist credits of any comparable mmo and you will know what i am talking about. Combining the groundbreaking ideas and effects of Infinity with the mmo experience of EVE developers sounds like just the right ingredients for a most delicate outcome to me. The genre is almost identical as well. Of course the financial possibilities and the peak server load management of EVE could contribute a big portion of the whole pie, and 'Infinity' could actually become reality in far less time than without. Star Wars Galaxies: Doing It Right.
Take everything that SWG had pre-cu, minus the bugs, the balance issues and the jedi class in all the forms they chose to implement it. Now combine it with EVE's security system and the theoretical risk and reward balance (I.e 0,0 > Low sec > High Sec) that CCP is/was going for, and don't forget looting your enemies corpses. Also implement player owned territory (Planets divided into zones, space areas expanded on and divided into zones) and conquest of said territories. There you go, my dream game. |

Global Agenda sounded promising then they went with the gimmicky jetpack and died horribly as a candidate for a game with any sort of longevity. |

I miss 4x games, to bad no one makes any really good ones anymore. 4x games and Space Combat simulators were some of my faves. One of the best in my opinion was Independence War series. Wish they would make another of both MoO and I-War. Both of which the game industry has forgotten about. In favor of FPS and MMOs. |
