Not to hijack the bump of this post

Looking at it from a business point of view, the top dogs will pass it off, because "Money talks and bull-Sht walks". The DEV's like many, take the orders form higher-up and have to follow or loose a job. They may agree? -or not. But it is clear its not going to change any time soon.

All customers complain but its not until the business side is affected that companies take a look. So with all the other games out there why do you stay and give CCP your money ?
Iam expecting 10-15 posts that Iam a CCP copout or flames, but really why?

For me I like the basic concept of the game and its mass way of playing, and the community in general.

Hope.

That and no truly "gamebreaking" issues have reared their ugly heads for me...

Well... let's see... I could easily buy a lifetime's worth of PLEX with the ISK I could convert into liquid form right now (depending on how long that lifetime is, I could do it on more than just one account)... so there's absolutely no reason for me to leave.

P.S. Plus, there's no reasonable alternative. All of them suck, EVE sucks the least.

Im only 3-4 months old in EVE.

My friend said i should gather 150 billion isk before starting to PVP in cruisers.

i only have 110 billion now (mostly because i kept buying stuff), so i guess a lil bit more before i can PVP in cruisers...

no reason to quit yet !

Exactly this right here.

I have tried out just about every other option out there when it comes to mmos and no matter what issues Eve has they are nothing compared to the problems each and every other mmo has.

Each and every mmo out there has problems, none of them are or ever will be perfect. It's up to the individual players to decide what type of mmo they want is and what kind of issues in game design choices they are willing to deal with.

Eve gives me the options I want where no others come close.

Yeah.

Most of the one's complaining about lag are masochistic dudes in masochist land anyways (0.0)

I think CCP should introduce a 50 pilot cap in 0.0 systems. That should fix lag, and put all the resources to jita instead (1400? not enough at all! If eve is to expand, Jita's cap needs to be expanded too).

I mean, most of the time i visited 0.0, there only 3-4 pilots anyways. by placing a 50 pilot cap, you can reduce lag.

I actually spend quite a bit of time in 0.0. No problems.

I think this is why so many people are deciding to leave. People who post ideas like this that are so counter to what Eve has always been about, and the very real fear that the devs read these posts and think "Hmm...not a bad idea!".

The only real issues are the morons continually filling the forum with their sky is falling/EVE is dying crap threads. But then, that's nothing new. Is it?

If you mean in game stuff, well things could be better, I suppose. But I certainly haven't dropped any of my accts over it.

There has been rough spots in the past and there will be in the future.

Deal or bail. Just stop with the incessant whining. Makes me want to stop trolling the forums. And that will be a sad day for me.

Nice troll, bro, will give you 3/10 for effort. Now for the content part...

I think CCP should introduce a 50 pilot cap in Jita. That should fix lag, and put all the resources to 0.0 instead (1000 vs. 1000? not enough at all! If eve is to expand, nullsec's cap needs to be expanded too).

Does that sound familiar? Razz

I still stay around due to some people I meet and fraternize with in game. Otherwise that "18 month till we probably work on playability again" would have seen me leave. The gameplay currently holds only a limited attraction for me.

There is a couple of other game companies I can leave my money with, thank you very much. Smile YMMV.

I stay with Eve because I have fun playing it.

Real risk and real loss
Player driven market
POS reactions
Wormholes

Mining ( yes at times, but it makes me want to shoot people afterwards )
Make ships
Invention
Missions
Complexes

Sooo many things I can do when I get bored of what ever it is I am currently doing.

because I gave up on 0.0 warfare long ago and don't have to deal with the lag and only fight in small gang warfare, but still there are a lot of things which are broken in eve and I've no faith in CCP anymore to fix said thins, instead I expect they'll keep making a mess of things in the hopes of attracting new players at the expense of their old players, so I mostly just stick around because my friends play, and I mostly just grief other people in game.

Players as customers are mobile. When things don't go right, they become even more mobile.

So, they write down their protest, look around for another valid MMO and...

... sadly, every single of them - even fixed and polished - still sucks balls compared to the driving concepts behind EvE. In fact I am quite convinced that CCP are using the lack of alternatives as customer keeper while they develop what they believe will be decent features to offset Bioware's or whatever new possible games.

Only here because swords and magic MMOs suck donkeys. If there was a space MMO that wasn't even more horrible than EVE I wouldn't be here.

For me I like the basic concept of the game and its mass way of playing, and the community in general.

I've tried a lot of games and after a while they all get boring. End-game is the biggest challenge for game designers I think; most people stay in games because of the community anyway - and not for the challenging content. It was always the hardest thing to do when quitting a game, saying goodbye to your in-game friends.

So why not switch? Firstly I'm not sure if there's any good mmorpgs around that I haven't played yet. Secondly I don't do fleet battles (which is the main issue). I'm still exploring and practicing and finding out things. But I'm not saying I'll stay forever either, but the current issues probably won't have anything to do with that descision.

I stay with eve because I dont do divorces based on mistakes and bugs.

A divorce really needs something more serious! Like SOE's NGE for Star Wars Galaxies: Major changes to gameplay and its control mechanism!
