Dear CCP

I started playing this game in the summer of 2006. I fell in love with the detail this game had to offer. It had an economy, it had missions, it had pvp, but most of all it had spaceships and many different types of spaceships.

Fast forward 4 years later, and now it is 2010, but none of the spaceships have changed. Nothing new has really been added except for t3 ships. Dont get me wrong, I really like the new spaceships, but when, if ever do we get to see new spaceships in new hulls?

I think we would all apreciate seeing a new hull for every class, maybe 2 hulls for some classes. Im tired of only having the brutix or myrmidon to choose from... Add 2 new BCs for every race make BC level 3 and 4 useful. How about some new battleships?

I dont care about flying on planets, or walking in stations. I guess it is inevitable that this will happen soon then later, however, dont deviate from the roots. In the end, EVE is still a spaceship game.

The EvE I play has 8 BC's and 4 TII BC's, and BC l3&4 are painfully useful.

Maybe you are on the China server?

As much as I really really really hate the ops crying, I do agree with one part. I could give a flying **** about walking in stations, DUST, and most of whats set for the following future expansions. I dont need a better avatar, my ships guns shall be my avatar. Those expansions are neat, but they are not what will keep me in the game.

Except for several critical changes that completely change how those ships are flown and used in combat.

They were new hulls dummy.

What would these new ships do differently to current ones? They need a role that is worth having without making other ships redundant, or else they themselves are redundant, and of course therefore not worth adding.

I dont care about flying on planets, or walking in stations. I guess it is inevitable that this will happen soon then later, however, dont deviate from the roots. In the end, EVE is still a spaceship game.
I agree that stuffs a load of crap.

How many times do people have to repeat that the grand scope of CCP is to have EVE being an entire scifi universe where people can walk on planets, fly in ships, dock at stations, shoot at space stations, shoot at planet based stuff etc. etc.?

Come on Pank, you should know that by now. The big plus is that all that stuff you don't want is optional. Another plus is that the EVE universe will expand.

The biggest downside though is that we'll have to wait 18 month's at least for polish/ non crappy expa... patches, like pi.

4 new tier 3 BSs and 4 new tier 2 BCs added in the autumn of 2006, shortly after you joined.

16 new tech 2 ships : Electronic Attack Ships, Heavy Interdictors, Black Ops and Marauders added in the autumn of 2007.

Orca added in the autumn of 2008.

Also, T3 cruisers are not just ONE ship per race, they're actually quite a few ships per race, depending on subsystem choices. 3 of each type were introduced in spite of the promised 5, the 4th one was later added, but the 5th never came.
Still, that's a potential 4^5=1024 combinations possible for each of the T3 strategic cruisers.
Even if just 5% of those combinations are actually viable in combat, that's still practically over 20 new ships.

Quote:

I have a feeling you don't really know how the battlecruiser skill affects your ships.
HINT : those levels are useful even if you never change your chosen battlecruiser.

P.S. Yeah, sure, we could use more ships that get actually used in combat, and a third battlecruiser or even a fourth battleship would be nice... still... I like the road taken with T3 more than just adding new T1 hulls, there's already more than plenty to pick and choose from. Now if only they could bring the affordability of T1 ships to the modularity of T3 ships, now that would be awesome. Also, T3 battlecruisers FTW.

2006 you say? So:

Revelations
  • Tier-3 battleships.
  • Tier-2 battlecruisers.
  • Rigs.
  • Vast ship rebalancing.
Revelations II:
  • Heat
  • Bombs
  • Carrier triage
  • Titan rebalance
  • Rorqual
  • Khanid refocusing
Trinity:
  • Amarr and Caldari ship rebalance
  • Electronic Attack Ships
  • Heavy Interdictors
  • Black-ops
  • Marauders
  • Jump Freighters
  • Drone bandwidth
  • Sansha rebalance
  • Resistance rebalance
Empyrean Age:
  • Magnate
  • Tier-1 navy cruisers
Quantum Rise:
  • Orca
  • Nano nerf
  • Transports rebalance
Apocrypha:
  • Strategic Cruisers
  • ECM ship rebalance
  • Stealth bomber reconceptualised
  • Black-ops reconceptualised
  • Rig sizes
Dominion:
  • Tier-1 Navy Battleships
  • Faction & navy ship rebalance
  • Capship rebalance
  • Titans reconceptualised
  • Motherships reconceptualised

…and beyond this, they've thrown in a couple of uniques, such as the Mimir, Freki, Adresia, Utu, Primae, Zephyr and Apotheosis.

All in all, that's 50 new ships, and pretty much every single ship in the game receiving some pretty significant alterations. So yeah, that pretty much qualifies as "nothing changed or added".

You don't just add ships, you make ships that fill roles.

For example, Tier 2 battlecruisers filled a role; the Myrmidon and Drake use their races alternate weapon systems.

So if you want new ships, come up with new roles.

So using a races secondary weapon system is a role? Laughing

In that case, I want an armour tanking missile wielding battleship. Or a mini carrier. Or a battleship sized DDD.

The real roles I would like ships to be able to fulfil are, mine-layer (and sweeper). Point defence against small ships. And a ship that could be used to protect civilians against a suicide ganker would be nice too.

Is that enough ideas?

There are plenty of BSs with armor tanking that have launcher hardpoints. They may not have as many as a Raven, but missiles are supposed to be a Caldari specialty -- and Caldaris favor shields.

The tier 1 carriers (Chimera, Nidhoggur, Archon, Thanatos) are the closest thing to 'mini' carriers you can get. Alternatively, ships like the Domi or Rattler have considerable drone bays. If you're trying to say that you want fighters in a high-sec ship, no.

HAHAHAHA no.

Mines were pulled out of previous versions for a reason. You don't need a 'minesweeper' because it's not hard to detect a metallic anomaly floating in space. (and no, mines can't have cloaking devices). Also, too much latency added.

Then you hire a merc for escort in whatever ship they choose to use. Or get a corpmate to help you. This isn't really a 'role'...

Actually EVE was never meant to be just a spaceships game, CCP from the beginning has wanted it to be a complete sci-fi experience

they just didnt have the know how to implement a system like walking in station till technology advanced and ppl's computer could handle their expectations or something like that

its sorta like the movie Avatar, how James Cameron had to wait for tech to catch up

what we have now in EVE is Avatar's equivalent war scenes and explosion....CCP wants to refine it into the whole experience, Avatar's story in this case is what wraps it all together

but we'd rather see just war and explosions than the love story underneath now wouldnt we?

of course u could put up justa video of explosions and ppl would be happy but what really draws in the crowds is the story the follows like a good book

I hate to agree because trolling is so much fun but tbh a few newer ships would be nice, even not with new roles included hell use them for old roles it would just be nice to look at something new. with that said we all know they are coming out with new ships that is a given its just more a matter of when. so while they keep nerfing our beloved internet spaceships we will just have to moan a little longer..... lolz had to get my troll on.

New*** alert.

The main Caldari Weapon is the Railgun. The Main Gallente one is the Blaster. The Main Amarr is the Lazorbeamz. The Main Minmatar one is the Projectile Turret.

The Secondary Caldari Weapon is Missiles. The Secondary Gallente one is Drones. The Secondary Amarr one is also Drones. The Secondary one for Minmatar is Missiles as well.

Minmatar also have a Third, Fourth and Fifth system, being Drones, Duct Tape and Rust respectively.

Actually, EVE online is a Science fiction game, and CCP wants to include everything associated with that.

A good thing though: you are not forces to use Incarna! And so you can still have your spaceship game, which wont be changed. For me however I am looking forward to this expansion with more than just a little anticipation!
