I have done a pile of google searching on this and have repeatedly seen that asteroids within grav sites do regen over the lifecycle of the grav site (3-5 days).

Can any give a clear explanation of how often these asteroids regenerate? Does anyone have more definitive info on this?

Thanks a ton!
Zin

Asteroids in grav sites do not regenerate. New grav sites spawn instead.

Notice the following WIKI link...

#6 under "Gravimetric Sites" says, "6) Additional rocks WILL spawn in over the lifetime of the field."

Is this not correct then?

I've never experienced that in w-space.

If it does happen, it is for ores I wouldn't wast time mining anyways.

Occasionally a very large asteroid will spawn during the grav sites life, but not always.

I'm curious. I was referring to my experience in a C2 (lived there for over a year). What class are you people seeing new spawn in? Also, what type are they, for example, more ABC?

Thanks.

i live in a c4, and it seems to be the mid grade ores that respawn for me. things like omber and such. also, i have noticed that if there is an unscheduled downtime/server restart, all the roids, as well as the sleepers, reset.

They do not regrow, BUT:

Sometimes, if you leave a rock (just leave a little Veldspar rock there), after downtime a new rock will spawn.

For example, you clear a site in a c2, leaving a Veld rock behind, after DT the site will spawn a Mercoxit rock. I always did it this way and approx. 50%+ of the times, after DT i could harvest some nice high-class ore :)

Based on purely anecdotal experience, if the rarified and the exceptional are hit hard enough (you mine out the initial ark + bistot) you will get a nice bonus large rock. Rarified will give you a 150k unit bistot rock, the exceptional will be a 120k crock. The exceptional also has a chance to spawn multiple 20k unit bistot rocks a few days in.

Thanks for the information guys.

I am living in C2 now and have seem some ore respawn in an isolated core deposit. We nabbed an Ark, a Kern and Jaspet and a Dark Ochre respawn after down time on the 3rd day. So, I don't know if there is any rhyme or reason to the respawns, but they do happen.

Mined in a C3
Ops called it a day leaving a Merc, Bistot and a Spodumain.
Next day after DT an aditional Bistot was spawned.

Regeneration = no
Additional spawn = yes

here you can look up your WH and check the sites that can spawn there and what is in them and if they could have spawns or not..(note: haven't checked if there is a difference in sites for extra spawn possibilities or not)

Living in a C3.

Usually mine the hell out of the A,B,C (and M if there is any), and leave the rest.

Every now and then, we've had a new and larger C spawn. And if that gets finished off, sometimes there will be an even larger C the next day.

It's happened several times now, though not every time.
