Yup guess alll my planetary workers are on an extended Vacation.

Not that IP was generating any real ISK anyway. I figure theres better things to do then spend the time restarting the extractors AGAIN! I just dont have the heart. I suppose if I couldnt make enough isk from other sources I'd get them going but, In conclusion to my rambling- IP has become really a boring task, then a fun extra thing to do in eve..

Thats all folks!Surprised

Can I have your PI stuff?

That being said, I agree. Unless Im missing something, the isk per time value doesnt seem to be worth it at this point in time.

I think this is done so they have something to "fix" next expansion. Makes them look busy.]

They put the gas pedal onto the vehicle's rooftop, what do you expect?
It's all By Design™, despite being advised We Told You So™ in the numerous pre-Tyrannis PI feedback thread.

I have trouble believing that people who actually have experience making games for a living designed the extractor maintenance system.

It's not QA's job to tell game design how to do design.

Which is sad, since most of CCP QA has more clue about it than the people who came up with PI...

I'm getting fed up with all the Clicking that is needed, at least allow us to select all the extractors at once!

Term.

Enriced Uranium production isn't too bad.

I experimented with it in high sec. Then scouted out low sec, moved there, "claimed" 5 planets, started to train an alt for another 5 planets, now the alt is trained and I don't have any desire whatsoever to do *any* PI at all, ever again if it stays this horrible empty clickfest that has no game design in it at all.

See what happens when CCP diverts his manpower to other projects-> you end up with crap like PI. Fear the winter expansion it will be the same half baked soon forgotten bs.

Thank heavens I stock piled my POS fuel before this disaster was released.ugh

So much negativity, you'd think this was some PvPers' rant on lag/rockets/dscan/lowsec/sov.

Thanks everyone who quit, reducing the supply and therefore making prices higher for the few who left.

A strange game. The only profitable move is to not play.

NEVER buy or eat out of a dented can! Botulism's most natural source is from anaerobic environments such as dented cans after bacteria enter it they eat up the oxygen, botuli can actually paralyze you in 28 hours, shutting your lung, heart, everything down.

ALSO storing vegitables in oil does the SAME damn thing, and chinese people do it ALL of the time so watch out at chinese restaurants.

Click 968 times... that is the old way. Someone in one of the other threads had the brilliant idea of double clicking, and I am not sure why none of us thought of this! Reduces your clicks into 484 double clicks!

After the initial testing on Sisi, PI had such a bad design, that I not even started to play with it on TQ. So much about this tamagochi game.

Lol, I was only running 3 planets, and I've also lost interest... I haven't bothered restarting them for a week now... It's just not worth the effort.

Time to stockpile POS fuel before the prices start rising even more... Crying or Very sad

There have been many times when I have gotten up in the morning, opened up Eve, look at my planets, and whimpered knowing what was coming next.

CCP... you make GAMES. PI is work, not games, and it needs to be fixed.

Post expansion everyone got into it. Prices went up initially because of speculation about the avaliablity of materials (especially uranium and robotics). Prices have been dropping for awhile as there is a surplus of materials driving costs so low that people lose interest. The treading on a cliff problem here is that PI is so unwieldy and time consuming (for a lot of people) its not worth the effect. However, as people lose interest the supply will decrease and the price will rise.

Blah blah blah, it will balance out.

Stop complaining. Do something else for awhile, come back in a few months, and see if anythings changed for ya.

Any game designer that opts to make an mini-game so inanely stupid and boring that almost no player wants to do at a means to raise the participation threshold should leave the field of game design and never return.

If the PI game design is an example of CCP's commitment to excellence, then the Icelandic diary must have a really odd translation for that word.

Yes, we've seen that effect with the high mineral basket.
Oh wait..

It'd only balance out if PI was done exclusively by humans.

I don't understand those people who complain.

PI is just PERFECT for bots or even easier - scripts/macros which let you repeat your mouse actions automatically. Twisted Evil

So I guess we won't see any serious shortage of materials.

Anyway: if you don't like it, don't use it.

Haven't you just described most of the non-pvp activities in eve (and a few of the pvp ones too)?

No I haven't. There is a marked difference between non-decisions and trivial decisions. Many people actually like to make trivial decisions in a game, while nobody likes to have to make non-decisions.

Most clicks in PI extractor restarting involve non-decisions. Many non-pvp activities involve trivial decisions, or become trivial decisions once you get to a certain level of experience and or skill.

For example: the decision between what ships to take down first on a lvl 4 mission is not trivial. Click to target ships from separate spawns/groups, and you find your 3-month skill point tank be overwhelmed rather quickly. As you get more experience, you learn what ships to target, learn how to manage drone aggro, recognize and take down scrambling NPCS, and you continue to lower the risk from a mission to near-zero, but that doesn't mean the decisions you make and the clicks you do to effect those decisions are non-trivial, let alone not neccessary. Missions are a good mini-game. They are challenging, and offer progressive challenges too. At some point, yes, they become boring, because they don't adapt to you, but as a mini-game, missions are well designed.

PI is a decent mini-game when it comes to setting up your facilities. However, managing your PI extractors involves non-decisions. There is no nearly instance imaginable that you want to start one extractor, but not another. There is nearly no instance imaginable that you want to do a survey, but not start extracting, etc. This means that all those clicks involve non-decisions. Of course you want to extract after surveying, of course you want to do a survey on the second extractor after you've done the first. These are unneccessary. The order doesn't matter, not activating an extractor after surveying doesn't give you any options. They are artificial clicks, clicks made to look like interaction, made to look like a decision, but they are not.
