It's very annoying. Last couple days I've resorted all my settings in game, bookmark folders, game shortcuts etc... lost 2 HAC, tons of drones.
All this only because EVE can't find out it just lost connexion and when I relaunch it, it's like a new one with disclaimer and intro movie...

CCP,
1) Why did u just don't make drones log off when their owner isn't there ? Because in pvp it's unfair ? Fine, just make NPC ignore em !

2) Can you please make your game to remember its setting and not just erase all when connexion is lost ?

I'm even not talking about EVE being able to tell me with a nice pop up that it lost connexion but not able to shutdown properly. I always have to kill the process.

Maybe you can try to think of a Mac developpment and not just faking a Wine with Windows files and folder's path.

And finaly yes I'll prolly go bootcamp hoping this ugly windows OS will recognize my hardware.

If it's too difficult, I would be glad to just have to save a folder to reinstall my settings...
graphic settings, bookmark folders, overviews, shortcuts...

I mean, My overview settings are still importable after this reset (so I guess the data aren't erased/deleted). that's weird. And I'm glad I can just clic import to get em back. What about all others settings ?

While I'm under the unfair effect of the anger, what is the problem that prevent you to add a right clic "show bpo info"(on items, not on bpos or bpc of course) "show contracts" on items ?

Adelaid,

I feel your pain. I've been asking for feed back on the crash reporter for a long time however my posts are ignored. Looks like we're just stuck with sub-standard gaming quality, absolute CRAP feedback & a complete lack of resepect for customers... I would have a screaming fit if I was face-2-face with a CCP developer in real life.

They simply don't care to communicate... hell, they simply don't care... That's all I can assume barring any feedback from development..

I did report configuration data loss after "socket closed" error and subsequent forced client quit in report ID 98179. That was 11 days ago and up to today I'm not even sure if they did read what I reported, as there's no response at all. No advice if there's a way to restore settings using selected backup files (TimeMachine).

As a matter of fact the crash reporter doesn't fire up 100% of the client crash times -- and having to forcequit the app by chance doesn't give the crash reporter a chance to start up either.

In these situations the copy & paste answer "please submit crash reporter data" is plain LOL_fail and down at the service level of German Telekom. If you think that's a compliment think again.

Again yesterday, all seetings to 0.
But this time everyother app I use didn't show any connexion lost (Teamspeak for exemple). But Eve pop me a "connexion lost" with screen freeze, sometime followed or starting by a sounds bug (I learned to put music at 0 then).
Lucky me this time after I force quite and relauch, my drones where close enough for me to scoup em all.
And Just took me 45 min to redo all my folders and store my bookmarks, reopen my channels, reset my overviews and so on.

I agree that we, evil customers, will prolly be just glad to have a "We're working on it" from devs. Instead of... nothing.

Just had same thing happen to me. It says connection to server lost. I relaunch eve, get the intro movie and ALL setting are gone. Now thats ALOT of work! And extremely bad if it where to happen during fleet battle etc. I also get this message:
"There is something wrong with the mail cache files. Try clearing the mail cache from the ESC menu and check that the hard drive is not full".

On top of that, when I actually try to clear mail cache I get the same message("There is something wrong with the mail cache files. Try clearing the mail cache from the ESC menu and check that the hard drive is not full".)

Woot?
And hard drive is not full ofc...

Been playing on mac for a long time. This is the first time it has happened.
SO my Question is: WHY does this happen? FIX plz!?

It's not a fix, but if you use some form of backup (if you don't - DO - or you WILL regret it one day! Trust me on that one!), what you want to restore is...
~/Library/Preferences/EVE Online Preferences/p_drive/Local Settings/Application Data/CCP/EVE/c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility

... where ~ is /Users/[yourusername] as always.
