Does submitting a request for getting higher performance for a fleet fight actually result in a lag reduction? Is this even a good idea to do since:

  1. What happens if things don't materialize - i.e. no fight actually occurs despite it being planned on - what's this no shenanigans rule - what the hell.

  2. Isn't letting CCP know what you're about to do and when possibily letting your target know especially if it's some high profile alliance with most likely a number of CCP staff as members - Pandemic Legion, Goonswarm, IT Alliance etc. Seems rather foolish.

  3. Does it even do anything at all?

When planning a roam, I look at the map, plan the route, at every system has more then 1 player in space for avarge, petition for a reinforced node in that system Razz

I'm guessing thats because DT like most alliances blob the sh*t out of stuff when they roam?

Sadly if you don't want to lose your 10 man roaming gang you need to actually do this...

Sadly most people expect letting CCP know by doing one of these requests is just as good as sending a mail to the goons, pl, etc. So people don't do it. It may not be true that this info makes it into the wrong hands, or is used against the people who put in the request, but the perception is still there and that is enough. CCP needs to put some serious effort into fixing the perception that their dev's use inside knowledge like this to help the alliance they are in or like. The fact that people are scared to tell CCP they are planning a large fleet battle to take a system from an Alliance because they think it could be used against them and they decide it is safer to deal with the lag is just sad. CCP needs to fix that more than they do the lag, as this perception (or maybe reality) is a far bigger issue.

I can tell you to your question #3, it does something, it does help with lag. But only to a point, 2 huge fleets will still run into problems, and gate lag will still get you. At least that is what I've seen. To your question #1, I'm guessing they can tell if it was a plan that didn't go well vs shenanigans easy enough. I wouldn't worry about it.
