Ok so I have been playing for about a month and I want to get a bit more serious. I would like to start doing some mission running and start building my way up to higher lvl missions. I am minmatar but right now I am in Amarr space because I salvage a freinds L4 missions for them and I make a lot of ISK, more then I could make on my own.

Is it ok to run missions out here in Amarr space or should I go back to minmatar and run L1's there? It is just a pain when I want to go salvage and have to go through 25+ jumps to get here.

Any suggestions would be great :)

Join your friend's corporation and run the Amarr missions. Unless you run a lot of level 4 missions for a long period of time, you won't be made persona non grata in Minmatar space. And by that time, you'll have learned more about how to maintain positive standings with all the empires.

Go to the "Missions and Complexes" forum and read the stickies there for some advice about mission-running. If you prefer to go on your own and look for missions in Minmatar space, use to find a good corporation with L1-L4 kill mission agents.

You can run missions for whoever you like.
You can fly whatever ships you want.

So a Minnie Char can fly a Raven, whilst doing missions for the Amarr Navy.

Mission running gives standings gains and losses based on

Amarr like the Caldari
Amarr dislike the Gallente & Minmatar

so eventually the Gallente & Minmatar factions will hate you, and shoot you when you fly through systems they control.

Ok so I can do the Amarr missions and not worry about it too much. Thanks!

You won't take standing losses with the Minmatar/Gallente just for running regular mission with the Amarr.

You only take limited (capped) standing losses for running Storyline missions for the Amarr, but they are usually worth doing for the rewards. Note that training Diplomancy to at least IV which only takes about a day and effectively negates the standing loss for Storyline missions, as at worst your standing loss is capped at -5, but Diplomacy IV will raise that cap back up to -3.4

The only real concern is accepting Empire kill missions, missions that ask you to kill Caldari/Minmatar ships or structures. Decline these when they are offered.
