Otro Gariushi was assassinated to maintain the status quo. To ensure the beginning of a pointless war that simply gave the leaders of empires leave to continue in power while the billions under their sway remained imprisoned in the jails of nationalism and torn asunder in the jaws of territorialist folly.

Out of the frying pan and into the fire. Those recalcitrant, intransigent, damn sexy free captains have been doing it again: They've stuck the poo stick of revolution into the hornets' nest of megalomania and ****ed off the demagogues of Placid who dislike the smell of their own excrement.

On a lighter note I've managed to have tea with some old friends; Namas. This place needs some love and we need the right friends, and of course the right enemies, with respect to the latter we're spoilt for choice. These bloated ticks and leaches are dug in pretty deep, they need to be salted or singed.

Log on, make contact, find the free captains, die and be reborn in the clone vats of the free.

Demand for ATotFC has out stripped supply, please send more copies.

What's in store for our freedom loving protagonists?

Will Juliana Soter (σωτήρ saviour), darling of the cluster end up like his namesake: on his knees, unsuccessfully, begging his bodyguards to recognise his authority?

Only time will tell, keep in touch dear reader and yours truly will endeavour to keep you fully informed.

p.s nice blog, Jeret; and Yskari hasn't thrown anything at me for ages, shame.

I don't think it can be done. In part because of the human tendency, for most people, there are exceptions, to take the path of least resistance. They'll take the easy way out, and giving up your car, your television set, your electricity, is not the path of least resistance for most people. As I see it, I don't think there is any controlled or planned way in which we can dismantle the industrial system. I think that the only way we will get rid of it is if it breaks down and collapses ... The big problem is that people don't believe a revolution is possible, and it is not possible precisely because they do not believe it is possible. To a large extent I think the eco-anarchist movement is accomplishing a great deal, but I think they could do it better... The real revolutionaries should separate themselves from the reformers… And I think that it would be good if a conscious effort was being made to get as many people as possible introduced to the wilderness. In a general way, I think what has to be done is not to try and convince or persuade the majority of people that we are right, as much as try to increase tensions in society to the point where things start to break down. To create a situation where people get uncomfortable enough that they’re going to rebel. So the question is how do you increase those tensions?

*The neocom flashes and opens a new window*

:Incoming Message:

From: Nick Lotton
To: Yskari

:Original Message:

Hello babe, long time no see. After that short meeting in Kamela. y'know when I patched up your entire fleet. You suddenly disappeared with all of your gear. I tried asking the station personnel if they knew where you went off to.

Now a while ago I've had to read that Star Fraction holds up around Placid? You coulda informed me! A tiny note would've done. Geez it is just so hard to keep track of you in this cluster.

I hope you're doing well and that you keep your ships in optimal condition, let me hear something will ya.

Nick.

:end of message:

Yskari closed the messagewindow and sighed. Why didn't she leave a note upon moving with the Fraction. She shook her head a couple of times as the Crusader-class Interceptor prepared to leave warp.

'Yskari landing in 5seconds.'

'Roger that, free to engage, target has agressed.' the voice of the fleet-commander responded nearly immediatly.

The targeting system let Yskari know a lock had been confirmed and soon after the buzzing of the small pulse lasers echoed through the small ship.

'Target down, make sure to get the pod.' Was shouted over the comms channel.

Despite all her efforts to focus, the message from her good friend and personal mechanic kept circling in her mind. Needless to say that the capsule of her target escaped. Without noticing she swore: stupid trivialities during ops, immortality doesn't mean unfallible.

Humm, quoting the Unabomber is pretty contentious, I don't think we're terrorists, although there are some who would suggest otherwise.

Moira may sound like your aunty, and like a certain type of frustrated aunty, Moira seems to have picked up some pretty strange bedfellows of late. She defends the interests of uncle Salvador Sarpati, of the Serpentis drug cartels; and when she hollers for help, after aggressing the free captains, the Guristas and other assorted NBSI riffraff heed the call. There must be something more to this than simple opportunism, but what? It's had to find a reason, so one is forced to conclude that aunt Moira has been a very bad girl, and the track marks up her arms speak of a whole new addiction... frustrated ambition can be more dangerous that this commentator had ever realized. We tried to help her, we wanted to, but sadly she's likely lost to us, forced to turn tricks, forever, in the roach motel.

There's this drunk standing out on the street corner, and a cop passes by, and says, "What do you think you're doing?" The drunk says, "I heard the world goes around every 24 hours, and I'm waiting on my house. Won't be long now, there goes my neighbor."

Democracy's a very fragile thing. You have to take care of democracy. As soon as you stop being responsible to it and allow it to turn into scare tactics, it's no longer democracy, is it? It's something else. It may be an inch away from totalitarianism.
