Be patient for a little longer Zion. I herd from a reliable source that if you buy enough sp to max all your skills a new final skill pops up that is rank 10000 and takes as much sp to get to level 5 as all the other skills combined. This skill is called IWIN and will automatically destroy all player owned ships and structures on the node and transfer everyones wallet balance to you when you do a session change when finally at level 5. So mortgage that house and pimp out your sisters to make sure you are the first one to get it!

You guys just dont get it. What you're totally missing is the older player base can buy SP's too if CCP brought this in so unless youve got bags of money you'll never catch up anyway.

And you biggest flaw of this concept is the player mentality, psychology or what ever you'd like to call it, if CCP brought this in EVE players probably will adopt an us and them mentality, yes thats right if you had a character prior to this being introduced you'd be in the us category if after indroduction you be in the them category.

The Us's well pwn the Thems no matter how many sp's you buy. But this will be cold calculated destruction of all new players no matter if they bought SP's or not, CCP may as well just change the game to TWO races the US's and the Thems.

Enjoy your game noob

To be honest,i have no idea where the game is headed for most veterans that started when the game basically did,and they're already specialised in several races(some even in all of them, including titans),so given CCP's emphasis on the new player experience and making the game easier for them so that CCP makes more money, which makes sense,i get the feeling that they're forgetting the veterans that kept the game alive in the early years.

I know a fair amount of them only log on to train skills and that's about it really,as there's nothing more for them to really improve upon in a meaningfull way,so where to go from that point???

Bah, EVE is all about the veteran players and everyone knows it. If CCP were really concerned about newbies, they would do a lot more than dork around with the tutorials or tweak the rate of skill training in the first couple of weeks. Then we'd see a lot more bruised toes around here. But they can't, CCP is held in thrall by EVE's vet player-base won't dare to antagonize the older players.

Best for them to keep the status quo (and try for some modest growth) with EVE, while working on a couple of other games so that all of their eggs won't be in the EVE basket in the future.

Those poor, down-trodden vets could try actually playing the game. Or if they have really run out of things that they want to train, they could use one of the other two character slots on their account and make another. Or they could keep training the 25-30+ years worth of skills already in the game if they are that hung up on the size of their e-peen.

I started playing eve 3-4 weeks ago because i have some friends playing eve, and they miles away from me when it comes to skill points. If i'm still playing the game in 1-2 months time i'll buy a character with skill points, can't see how else i can actually play the game with my friends.

When it comes to skill points, i don't think ccp needs to show the old players much love. The way the skill point system is designed old players are getting all the love they need.

To make a statement like that, you'd have to experience what eve was like in 2003 if you think the CCP still isn't doing enough for new players....Here's a few examples from my own experience:

1:I started with 8000 SP on the day of creation.
2:There was no accelerated training speed.
3:There were no atribute implants at all.
4:There were no tutorials.
5:It took a month of hard core playing to get into a cruiser.
6:There were no advanced learning skills at all.
7:There was no atribute remaps at all.
8:Making money in eve was a lot slower,as there wasn't even BS spawns in 0.0 space.
9:It took me another 3 months to get into a battleship, and all i could do with it is mine.

True,it is 20+ years to get every single skill at lvl 5,but keep in mind that a lot of those only provide a 2% improvement from lvl 4 to lvl 5,which is a minimal increase and takes weeks to get,and those same vets have already been playing for 7 years,so suggesting to restart from scratch with a new char is well beyond being a masochist in my book, and they have done pretty much everything that's possible in game, from PVP,to mission running,to mining,to trading,to manufacturing...You name it,they've done it.

Not to mention that CCP stated many times that they preferred people that specialised in an given area, but many of those same vets have already gone well beyond that point, given the slow release of new ships and modules, and many have the pre requirements for more T3 ships and T3 modules, and CCP have even stated that up to tech 5 ships and modules will eventually be released, but at this rate, after 7 years of playing,i have a better chance of kicking the bucket than ever seeing the first tech 5 ship in game.

What you noobs dont know or dont realise is most older players (1-7yo) have multiple accounts i personally know many players who have on average 3 accounts up to one player who have nearly 50. I think most will rage quit if this is introduced and you noobs and care bears will win.

The only problem with that is you'll log on to maybe 4k people online, no market will exist as no one will lose anything to often. I in the end CCP will close their door and EVE will be extinct.

You also have the impression most old players play using plexes i peronally think thats not true because most have a life and dont want to grind continuously just to keep playing the game, they may grind but thats for more ships to lose in battle not to play the game.

It's just the general impression that vets are being ignored since CCP thinks they're in it for the long run,so they don't have to release new stuff nearly as fast as they do for the new players,in order to attract new subscriptions,And CCP assume that flying a titan is the end game and that's all there is to it.

I think it's easy to imagine that at the current rate that titans are being made,we'll have over 1000 of them in game by sometime next year,so they're not the super rare and ultra exclusive ship they were supposed to be when they were first introduced and CCP thought thhere would be only a handfull of them given the expense and logistics involved in building one,and pilots who fly them need other challenges that go even beyond that point too, even if we're a minority overall.

In short,CCP greatly underestimates veterans who started playing this game from the start, when it was a much harder game to play,as skills trained a lot slower and money was made a alot more slowly too, compared to what EVE is today, which many feel it's been too watered down and made too easy to cater towards the new player, yet those newer players still ***** and moan that it's still too hard,go figure.

They introduced sp for plex a long time ago.

You buy a plex, add it to your account, and set a skill queue up, and CCP arrange for your SP's to go up for a month.

After that, the cooldown timer on the plex is complete, and you can buy more SP's wiht another plex.
