Have a itsybitsy problem wich is getting VERY annoying..
Every time i undock from a station (ANY station in ANY system) and try to control my ship (turning, warping, activating mwd), my eve hangs totaly... and not just the game...the whole computer... (this started after the last patch...)ugh

Have heard that some of my friends have the same problem in a lesser degree... (it hangs sometimes and sometimes not), so are more of u out there having the same problem and/or a sulotion to it? , cuz rebooting the puter after every undock is getting me crazy.. Evil or Very Mad

Hoping for a quick help Smile

turn off "sun is occluded by ships" so it has no tick in it.

press escape its on the general menu. It sorted my problems dont suppose your using an ATi card?

i am having the same problem,

ATI RADEON 7000 IGP,

memorymapping?

what is this, and how do i change it, or what exactly do i do?

tnx in advance

oh, and slightly non-eve, but it causes problems, exiting eve when it has locked.

i press Ctrl+Alt+Del

and all that comes up is the processes graph (green grid with heart rate thingy on it)no task manager...

any ideas how to get back to the task manager window?

in prefs.ini (in the cache folder) set
memoryMapping=0 or
memoryMapping=2
(1 is the default.).

anoter tips is to switchto windowmode when undocking...makes it a little easier to close eve if the computer wont let u in fullscreen :)

People, a few pages further u will find a huge topic adressing this bug.

I will safe u the effort of reading throught the entire thread but it mainly occurs with ATI gfx card users and the option SunisOccluded seems to be causing the bug.

Get this line in your prefs.ini and u will be fine.
The untagging of the option in the general screen will sometimes be overruled somehow.

sunOcclusion=1

And install ATO 4.10 catalyst.

Adding this line seems to have solved the undocking problem I've had so far with new version of EVE client ...

Well, my mistake offcourse, but the ATO must be ATI catalyst drivers.
I am sure when u type Catalyst 4.10 in Google that u will find some download sites.

I like to state again that it is somewhat strange that the "occluding of the sun" seems to be active sometimes even when u uncheck the tab on the general options page.
U must put the command line in the prefs.ini (make backup first)and then restart the client.

note: the changes of the settings will be made after u jump to another system.
So if u notice the sun does occlude when u undock (the sun will dissapear when u put your ship in front of it)and u change the setting in the general page, i beleive the actual change will be made after u jump trough a gate.

It worked fine for me again, had no crashes at all when i made sure the sun was not occluded.

GoodLuck again, and may i thank the person who found this fix in the first place.. :P credit to those who deserve it..

I have the same problem. 50% of the times my ship undocks, when I try to control it (double clicking screen or autopilot) eve just sends me back to windows desktop.
I have tried all options of z-buffer - no effect.
My card is a fx5200, drivers are the ones than winXP installs and work with every game.... but Eve.

I'm going to try the other suggestions you have in this post and report on the effects later.
